I scheduled and made a down payment on 10/15/13 to have an 8 ft wood fence installed. I attempted to contact them for 6 weeks and they finally arrived on 11/26/13. We were assured that it would be done by Thanksgiving. They removed the chain link fence, leaving part of the metal posts in the ground and pieces through out my yard. They installed the fence posts then left. They did not show up the next day. After speaking with the owner, two days after leaving messages, the crew arrived on Thanksgiving day. They installed half of the fence and left. They returned the next day, but only finished the fence, not the gate. Boards were cracked, chunks missing, and just bad quality. We notified them several times and marked what we were not happy with. New boards were dropped off on Mon, 12/2/13 and a different crew arrived late afternoon. The crew even commented on the bad quality of the wood. They "finished" the fence and left. I walked the fence and found dozens of holes, cracks, splits, etc. We still do not have a gate at this point. I called the owner multiple times in that week. My wife told me that the stain can was removed from our yard the day the owner was to meet her and go over the fence with her. But, he did not meet with her. She called the owner the next day, he returned the call, but she was not able to answer, but called him back 30 minutes later, which he did not answer. I called the owner, AGAIN, on 12/10/13, and he did not answer or return my call until 12/13/13. I let him know that his company has not held up their contract obligations and he asked if I had a lawyer. After that phone call, I assume that there will be no more work done on our ?fence? and we assume we are done with Tex Pro.
We contacted another fence company to find out the cost to repair what has not been repaired and to put up a gate, since I still do not have one. That company came over the same day we called, 12/10/13. It is over $1000 just to replace the pickets and cross members that are cracked or have holes. To be fair, that company said that some of the pickets I thought were damaged, are not. So were are not going to replace every picket that I marked. He did tell me he was surprised that the support poles were not 8 feet apart or in 3 feet of concrete, a standard for 8 foot fences.
My wife sent the owner of TexPro a detailed email explaining every unanswered call and concerns about the fence quality on 12/13/13 He called me back and he said that he himself would come to my house and walk the fence with us on 12/17. He did not show up nor call. I called him but he did not call me back until the next day. He finally arrived on 12/19 and had his men replace about half of the boards that we were not happy with. The men were there the next week to stain. The stain was blotchy and inconsistent. We still have holes in our fence, large holes the size of golf balls.
"Estimate was sent via email. We would be more than happy to forward another copy of estimate. Please contact our office."
"The member contracted with TexPro to install an automatic slide gate on his property. After agreement on price, TexPro started manufacture the slide gate for install. The day before installation was to take place, the member contacted TexPro to inform them he had found another company that would do the project for $200.00 cheaper. TexPro informed the member that we had already signed an agreement, and work had started on the production of the gate. TexPro informed the member that they had already given a $1850.00 discount from the original price. The member stated that he would rather have the other company complete the install of the gate. He asked us to drop off the gate, and parts for the slide gate, and have TexPro only charge for the work that was done. TexPro had initially charge a down payment of $2000.00. TexPro completed the fabrication of the gate, along with all parts, and delivered to customer. Approx. 4 months after the gate was dropped off, the member contacted TexPro and stated that he had thrown the gate away and wanted TexPro to refund the down payment. TexPro informed the member that TexPro had done everything he had asked, had time, Labor, and materials in the gate, and that TexPro could not refund without the gate being returned."
"A bid for the work to be performed was submitted to customer via Email. Customer had stated "they were just shopping around to see what they could afford, and they had no plans to start any work until next year," TexPro was more than happy to give a free estimate, which was given within 24 hours."
"TexPro never had a contract or performed work for this person. TexPro actually contracted with their neighbor, and completed over 300ft of fence in 3 days. It was explained to the neighbor that the fence would be down for a few days because that is what it takes to compete a job of this size."
- Failure to meet timelines.
- Failure to respond to phone calls, emails, or text messages.
- Debris remained on our premises since May 19 and was never removed, even though it is the contractor's responsibility for removal and disposal of all construction debris.
- Copies of invoices and work permits were never provided.
- No information on a construction account was provided.
- Our fence was removed in its entirety on May 20 and was not replaced. After repeated unanswered phone calls, we had to purchase and install our own safety fence.
- A fence permit was never filed by TexPro Fencing; something we found out after receiving a written warning by the City of Carrollton. We immediately purchased and filed the permit on our own.
- Work performed on the retaining wall and concrete decking was never completed.
- In order to resolve this matter, on June 7 we sent certified letters to Mr. Eitel to 3 different addresses associated to his company. Two came back "undeliverable" and one was signed by someone other than Jeramie Eitel. Mr. Eitel has yet to follow up with us in regards to our written request to resolve this matter.
TexPro failed to do the amount of work for what we paid for and as a result, we have grown increasingly frustrated with Mr. Eitel over the past 2 months. He repeatedly assured us that he would not only meet, but "exceed our expectations". On the contrary, this process has been extremely stressful. I am glad to have the opportunity to file this on Angie's List, so that others are not subject to this sort of poor service, lack of professionalism, general disrespect for our time and money.
"This customer did not sign a contract with Jeramie Eitel. They signed a contract with TexPro Fence. TexPro fence signed a contract with customer, replacing 125ft of retaining wall, and Fence, along with the replacement of fence around the property. TexPro informed the customer that from the date of signing it would take approx. 14 working days to get all materials in and TexPro would begin construction once all materials were onsite. During this time frame, the local area received numerous rain and hail storms which delayed the project. Once TexPro did finish the retaining wall, the customer requested that an additional 127ft of wall be installed. TexPro completed all of the retaining wall that was requested to be built. Customer became angry with TexPro because of the Holiday Weekend that was coming up, and informed TexPro if they did not have all of the 250ft of fence completed in 24 Hours they were terminating the contract with TexPro and would have another company come finish the project. TexPro informed that it would be impossible to complete that amount of work in 24 hours. The customer had a swimming pool pipe leak, which is what caused the damage to the original retaining wall, and TexPro informed them that until they had this repaired there was nothing more TexPro could do. TexPro wanted to complete the remaining amount of work, but was not allowed by customer to do so. TexPro was paid an initial down payment of $6,000.00. Tex Pro completed $10,000.00 worth of work which customer has never paid the remaining balance that is owed. Customer stated in their complaint that there was clean up work, and other work remaining incomplete, which is true due to the fact customer told TexPro not to come back to the job. When it comes to outside work, the weather will dictate what the schedule of completion is. You cannot install concrete when there is rain. We did not sign a contract stating that work would be completed under a strict time line. We cannot control mother nature."
