We had been vacillating on paint colors for our and quot;builder grade blahand quot; home for months and had purchased a small fortune in paint samples! With no agreement in sight we phoned a trusted friend with impeccable taste in paint color. She revealed her well kept secret- it was Margaret who was to be credited as the hidden talent behind my friend's gorgeous home design. I phoned Margaret and initially contracted with her to help us select the paint color only.
Margaret was a delight from the moment she introduced herself. She took time to listen to our needs, investigate the big picture goals and then delivered in very short order the perfect paint color selections. The colors were stunning. She was genuinely interested in my desire to utilize the existing accessory pieces in our home to make the colors work. It was obvious I loved my collection- I just didn't love the walls! Margaret, upon hearing my dreams and goals for the design of our space, offered her expertise and ideas. She offered her assistance in managing my dream and making it a reality. Margaret delivered on every aspect. We had the finest artisans and craftsmen, masons, painters, electricians, and carpenters. They were talented, trustworthy, clean and kind. It was evident that all of these folks worked together in concert as a team. The work was done ahead of schedule (5 days earlier than target), under budget (slightly), and with ZERO call back for punch list items (unheard of).
The materials pricing was spot on. Prior to hiring Sunderland Designs, we had obtained two separate estimates for the wood flooring project alone, and Margaret's vendor beat the outside estimates we obtained. I researched extensively all of the products and vendors utilized in this project. The prices were fair, the products were of the finest quality available and were the exact items I specified.
Our project included demolition of 900 square feet of ceramic tile, floating all floors, installation of wood flooring, custom base molding, crown molding, fireplace removal and reinstallation, granite surround for fireplace, granite counter top custom niche, custom lighting in kitchen, dining and niche, custom faux finish paint in niche and dining. Project management, design and direction provided by Margaret Sunderland. Additional services performed were, custom hand-painted mirror for major focal point in formal dining space, custom hand-papinted rundelle in formal dining room. Additionally, one can observe countless signature designer touches in every room provided by Margaret.
What I love most about this project is that we didn't want to discard all of our things and start over, we wanted to enhance the space in which we live. We accomplished that and are thrilled with the end result.
Our future plans will include Margaret, as we plan to remodel our master bath and expand a guest suite and guest bath.
