Wow, what a great experience. I had a slab leak and a large plumbing contractor was recommending drilling through my slab. I called Steve and he said he would tunnel from the outside and not disturb my slab. His communication and responsiveness was first class. He got the job done very quickly and painlessly. We were never disturbed during the tunneling and repair and the inside remained intact and clean. His team also installed 3 toilets and a dishwasher. His prices are reasonable and fair. The tunneling was the most expensive part, they had to go 39 feet. If your leak is closer to the outside, your price will be lower. I would definitely use him again. If you have a slab leak, call Steve first. The dude knows his stuff.

The job was an overall success. Don't take this kind of repair lightly. The cost is high and it leaves scars on the yard. The job involves moving lots of dirt away from the foundataion & installing drain pipe. A large portion of the cost involves getting rid of the dirt. Power Rooter did the job on schedule & the results removed the danger of water going over the slab & flooding the house.

I know that Steve is always busy and yet he made time for me and my job. I know he rearranged his schedule to make my job go off on budget and on schedule. His price was fair as always. He did the job quickly and paid close attention to detail. I am always pleased with the quality of work I receive from Power Rooter Plumbing. They never cease to amaze me with how they keep up with ground breaking techniques and practices.

Very pleasant plumbing repair experience!!! First of all I would like to say I am a contractor and I use subs all the time. I have never met anyone in my entire career that knows more about plumbing than Steve Lux. He is constantly honing his skills and furthering his already vast knowledge. He truly cares about doing a perfect job every time. I have been using Steve for all my plumbing jobs for the last 11 years and I will continue to do so. As always he took care of me and my plumbing needs. He is courteous, neat, and efficient. I wish more contractors took their jobs as seriously as Steve and his crew do.

I did not realize just what type of work that Power Rooter Plumbing did until I saw it for myself. Recently I decide to tackle the electrical problem. So braving the tight crawl space I dove under the home with tools in hand. While repairing the electrical, I took the time to inspect the job done by PRP. I have one word to describe the job done? Flabbergasting! Without a guarantee of further work and no guarantee that PRP would get the future renovation work Mr. Lux did far more work than I was charged for. His prep work aimed at my future plans ensured that the work will be as quick and easy as possible. One issue that could have been a negative was handled in advance by Mr. Lux. PRP received an emergency call that required most of their resources. I received a call from Mr. Lux requesting that my job be put off by one day to help the emergency. Rather than making an excuse after the fact I was asked if the delay would be ok. WOW! I can say with assurance that the PRP team has my guarantee of any future work at my home!

He was punctual, neat, and polite. He did everything he said he would do for the price he said. His crew was very professional. They all worked very hard and didn't complain at all. I felt like they made fixing my house a priority and finished in a very timely fashion.

Crew was great! Excellent response time and willing to meet my time frame. Very polite crew. I felt comfortable leaving them in my house while I ran to pick up my kids from school. There were absolutely no issues. Prices were very fair and the quality of work was great. I've recommended Power Rooter to many friends and co-workers.

VERY SHODDY WORKMANSHIP RESULTED IN BLACK MOLD GROWING AROUND MY NEW SHOWER AFTER ONLY ONE YEAR!! PLUMBER REFUSED TO ADMIT FAULT OR REFUND ANY MONEY OR MAKE ANY REPAIRS. COST ME AN ADDITIONAL $6500. TO REPAIR! About 14 months ago I had my master bath remodelled, removing a stand-alone shower to make it a closet, and turning the cultured marble garden tub into a combo tub/shower. There was a large fixed frosted glass window over the tub before we started that needed to be replaced if we were to be able to use the area for showering. I hired Steve Lux, of Power Rooter Plumbing, Master Plumber license # M35682, to do this job. He gutted my walk-in shower, capped the pipes and put in sheetrock and shelving for a closet. He failed to put any insulation between the outside brick and the new sheetrock. He tiled the wall and ceiling surrounding my tub and installed a shower head so we could use this area as a shower-tub combo. The job was done while I myself was working outside my home, therefore I did not have the opportunity to observe his work. I recently discovered mold on the wall that the window is on, called my insurance company and had the tub and affected wall removed on the adjuster's instructions, so he could see the damage. With those removed it was obvious that the moisture that led to the mold had come from the window area by looking at the mold pattern. Not only was the window not properly sealed to prevent water from seeping into the wall, but I also could see that Mr. Lux had laid the tile over the existing sheetrock! Remember, this was a tub-only area that he converted to a combination shower/tub. Being tub-only before remodel, it did not have greenboard or cement backer board, but Dallas existing building codes (Appendix J) specify that water-resistant backerboard be used in showers. I called Mr. Lux hoping to resolve the issue between us, but was disappointed at his response. He came to my home, but was hostile from the very first minute. First he said that he didn't put backerboard because he didn't charge me for it, though he never talked to me about it. Then he said that it wasn't required because it wasn't a shower. When I pointed out that the purpose of the job was to install a shower/tub combo, and that he had done just that, he told me that the definition of a shower requires that it have a shower pan, so therefore it wasn't a shower. When I protested again, he told me that he was not going to refund any money since he was unable to leak test it since the tub was removed, and said I should have called him before removing the tub. I tried to explain that I didn't know that the mold had anything to do with his work until the tub was removed, so could not have known to call him beforehand. He remained hostile and beligerent, and told me that I had "robbed" him of the opportunity to leak test it, and had no way to prove that he did anything wrong. He refused to acknowlege that it was wrong to have laid shower tile over regular sheetrock, and even said that it was only designed for "an occasional shower, not 2 or 3 showers a day". First, this is my master bathroom; second, whoever heard of a shower with a limit on the number of showers you can take in it? Additionally, the new closet (where the old shower was) is on an outside wall and he failed to provide ANY insulation in the new walls. I confirmed my suspicions by punching a hole in the wall with an icepick and then pushing a coat hanger through the opening and moving it in a circular pattern. I did not meet any obstruction other than wood and sheetrock. When I confronted Mr. Lux about this issue, he said he had no way of knowing what was inside the walls without tearing them down to look. He then told me that our conversation was over, and that he had no intention of taking any responsibility for anything or refunding any of my money. I even offered to accept a partial refund, just enough to reimburse me for the part of the job I'm having to have redone after just over a year due to his sub-standard workmanship. I even offered to drop the issue of no insulation in the closet walls if he would reimburse me for the shower so that I could pay someone else to do it over. He told me to "forget it" and to "do what you have to do".

Our remodel took longer than expected due to delays in getting the new cabinets installed. Steve and his guys were there on day one to install the gas line and then came back as needed at various stages on the job. Every time the came back they were punctual and helpful. If all of the contractors were as fast and responsible as Steve, the job would have been done in half the time.

My house was built in the 1970's and I had a couple of leaks last year in my hot water line. I am thinking of doing some remodeling so before I start that I want to be sure I don't have any other problems under my foundation. I was somewhat shocked at the price Steve quoted. After talking with several people I decided to try to verify his findings. I have since consulted three other companies, two plumbers and one pipe inspection company. None of them can find a leak in any sewer lines under my house. Two of them, one plumber and the pipe inspection company, said that in order to run a camera thru a sewer line to locate a leak, it is absolutely necessary to have a double cleanout. I have no knowledge of how any of this works and am beginning to think that no one else does either, so I've decided to go ahead with the remodeling and hope for the best.
