If you are looking for a first-rate company to transform your outdoor space into an oasis, look no further than Allied Outdoor Solutions. They are customer-centric and employ team members that are ethical, highly skilled at their craft and dependable. We removed an in-ground spa and the surrounding decking, leaving us with about 300 SF of dirt in our backyard. We tried without success for over 9 months to find a reputable contractor to come out and prepare a bid either for stamped concrete or pavers. Finally, I expanded our search area and that’s where we found Allied’s website. After researching pavers vs. stamped concrete, we decided to go with pavers. On February 28, I filled out a “contact me” form on their website. The local Allied office contacted me on March 1 and we made an appointment for March 2 to meet with Brent, our Project Consultant. We finally found a company that was responsive and actually seemed interested in earning our business. We met with Brent on March 2 and found him to be knowledgeable and helpful, making suggestions to include 3 drains in the area to be covered with pavers. He quoted us a price on the spot, one that was within the budget parameters we had set for this project. We signed a contract and put down a 20% deposit. Brent indicated they were about 3 weeks out schedule-wise, and we would be contacted to set up a meeting with our Project Manager. On March 6, we were contacted by Allied and scheduled an appointment to meet our Project Manager, Carlos Flores, on March 19th at 8 am. Carlos took detailed notes and measurements and finalized the contract, save for our selection of paver stones and the composition of our seating wall. Brent contacted us on March 21st with the name and location of the company in Dallas where we could go to pick out our materials (Jewell and Stone). That’s where we hit our first pothole. We spent over 1 hour thereon March 25th and left with more questions than answers. In hindsight, we should have insisted that Brent meet us there to guide us through the selection process. My wife called Brent and they selected materials during that call. Carlos contacted us on April 1st to confirm our selection of materials. Allied’s schedule called on April 3 to inform us the start date would be April 15 and she called again on April 12th to confirm it. Jeremy and Javier showed up on the morning of April 15th as promised. The dedicated team worked well together and finished the job on April 19, which was important as we were leaving early on April 20th and did not return until April 28th. We were home for heavy rains that occurred May 2nd and noticed a drainage problem in a circle we had cut in the pavers for a future fire pit. I texted Carlos with a picture of the problem and he got back to me within 2 hours with a pledge to fix it as promptly as possible. Now, keep in mind we had already paid Allied in full for the balance due on the project. Other companies are not real responsive after they’ve been paid. To their credit, Allied WAS responsive. Carlos contacted me again on May 6 and scheduled a visit on May 10th to determine what would be needed to fix the issue. Carlos and two other team members came out on the 10th as promised and took detailed notes of what was needed to cure the problem. To my pleasant surprise, I was given the option of having a team come by that same day to fix the problem. I jumped on it, as rain was scheduled for the very next morning. The fix (a drain installed under the fire pit) was completed on May 10th and it worked like a champ. We had 1.5 inches of rain on the 11th, and the fire pit remained dry. Everybody makes mistakes. It is how a person or a company handles their mistakes and makes good on them that differentiates the great ones from the rest. We can honestly say that Allied Outdoor Solutions is a great company, based on our experience with them. Did it go perfectly? No. Did Allied do everything they could to make things right? They absolutely did. We would certainly hire them again if the need arises, and we would heartily recommend them to our friends and neighbors. Carlos, Jeremy and Javier were the people we had the most contact with and they are the Real Deal. They were great representatives of Allied – knowledgeable, ethical, and customer-centered. These qualities are harder and harder to find these days.
