Hardware & Home Improvement Stores
This dealer had been a true gem, for over a decade under the ownership of Dick Young.
Lately, its emphasis on customer service has all but vanished. Last year, when I needed a wheel assembly for a ZTR mower, Lake Lawn basically told me to get lost. My sin? Only having the part, and not the model number of the mower, the part number of the wheel.
Later that week, I stopped by the Toro dealer in Fort Worth and they happily matched the part, had me out the door within five minutes.
Today, I stopped to buy some consumable items.
Calling in advance, I was told the closing time was 5:20PM. Herein lies a recurring theme from other reviewers: they exist for the convenience of employees, not customers. In fact, the store is open until 5:30.
There, I once again got the general feeling I was somehow a nuisance, an inconvenience to the employees; then, upon leaving, another Lake Lawn employee parked his motorcycle next to the front door with a Confederate flag proudly flying in the breeze.
Not one to attend klan rallies or condone racist swaztikas, and already not a fan of this business, I declared an end to my patronage of Lake Lawn.
