Great! Technician was very knowledgeable and helpful. He asked me to describe what the problem was and then explained what he would need to do to identify if the thermostat was bad. It all sounded logical to me. He bypassed the thermostat to see if heat would come on or shut off without the thermo. connected and it did, so in the end he was able to determine that the thermo was bad, then replaced it with the new Nest Thermostat. So far, we've been pleased.

The install was very seamless. All the gentleman that came out to do the work were awesome.

From sales to installation, all was done transparently, on-time, and professionally.

Excellent experience. GVEC exceeded my expectations. Great job by Jeff. No hard sell, excellent explanations for all my questions, always responded quickly. Better deal with them than I was quoted from a different company who had a very good reputation. Installation of a 36 panel 10.8 Kw system took only one day and the crew was extremely professional. A few days in, the system is performing as expected. The fact that I've been a GVEC customer for 12 years helped me feel good about this decision. I'd recommend GVEC to anybody for solar panel installation.

The entire process from the quote to the local city inspection was efficient and handled with professionalism. The knowledge, professionalism and skill of the GVEC rep and the installation technicians was excellent. GVEC exceeded my expectations. They were a little bit high in cost, however unlike all the other HVAC companies GVEC provided a 10 year parts and labor warranty. The other companies do 10 years on parts and only 2 years on labor (some also had a trip charge). I would recommend there HVAC services.

I'll start by saying that the customer service over the phone is excellent. I did get a call back and we went through all the checks they suggested with the same result. Finally they tell me it's a power issue with a tower and don't have an estimated time for repair. I have to ask for some kind of discount because they didn't offer me any type of compensation and seemed happy for me to pay for something I was not getting. After numerous calls and months of slow speeds they gave me a discount of $5 per month on a $75 plan for 8Mbps and 1 month reimbursement .The speeds are almost unusable and certainly unbearable. Yet they offer no solution. I also complained through email services from their customer support 2 or 3 times and got no response. As of today it's the same thing slow speeds.

I normally do not give reviews, but my experience with this company was so good that I need to tell someone.
My mother is a 76 year old widow that lives alone in Gonzales.   She went for FOUR MONTHS without heat due to the incompetence of another local company.
Once we decided to just replace the whole system, GVEC Home Services quoted an entire brand new heat pump HVAC system.   Their quote was $400 less than the other two quotes, for BETTER equipment (15 SEER rather than 14 SEER efficiency rating), their warranty was NINE years better, and their people were friendly, helpful,
and informative.    They sang the praises of what they were selling, rather than bad-mouthing what others were quoting.
The other company had fiddled with the system so much that I could get no one else to work on it.   When I told GVEC that they had my business and I went and paid for it, they said they would go out in the morning and see if they could get the emergency heat working on my mother?s existing unit since it would be a few days to get the new equipment and get it installed.   They
were there at 9:04 and by 9:18 had some central heat for my mother, and they didn?t charge me for that service.   GVEC
was truly concerned about my elderly mother, the way that a local company should be. 
They showed up on installation day early, covered all the carpets, finished early, worked efficiently, and completely cleaned up after themselves.   They did have a little technical issue, but two phone calls by the knowledgeable head installer got
that fixed. 
GVEC is a large-enough, stable-enough company that can truly afford to offer good customer service, rather than worrying about how the next dollar is going to be made.

Clean install, nice people. Replaced terribly slow and unreliable service from local phone provider. Couldn't be more pleased.

I am happy with GVEC's services. They answer pretty quickly and told me what's wrong with my internet. They seem to be competent. It takes a while to get service sometimes. All of their prices are listed clearly on their website. They will tell you exactly what you will pay for your services.

They got it back up and running quickly. They provide excellent service, and don’t put you on hold when you call – they do a great job. Additionally, they don’t throttle you when you reach a certain bandwidth usage – they’re the best!

I had an internet service provider earlier that I was very unhappy with and Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative turned out to be cheap and good. They did everything professionally and on time. I was very happy with them and I would rate them highly overall.

Contacted company on 4/3/2010 to schedule a maintenance visit. First available date was 4/15/2010. Company arrived on 4/15 and began heat pump/cooling system check out and maintenance. Contractor was professional and thorough, though he tracked dirt into the house during his visit. He discovered the condenser compressor unit had shorted out, and wrote down all the model/serial numbers of the air handler/condenser unit. I asked about repair options, and he said a separate GVEC representative would contact me about that. He didn't know when they would contact me, and said they were currently backlogged. I waited a few days, and decided to contact a separate contractor for repair/replacement options. The other contractor successfully and satisfactorly completed the repair on 4/23. As of this report date, 4/27, I still have not heard back from GVEC.
