"I discussed what I would like the hedges, beds, and sidewalk border planting of monkey grass to look like. Ken Scott and his crew arrived when promised. the got right to it. Their work exceeded my expectations. The cleaned everything up and hauled off the cuttings. They even took care of some rosebush plantings and an oleander that I had forgotten to mention. When done, I paid them and re-hired them to take care of some issues in my hydrangea bed and the azaleas come Monday next. They did not cut any corners, but stayed until finished. I'll be using their service again."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Yes, using natural additives and methods that lower impact.

To repair damaged exterior stucco, you’ll first remove all loose and crumbling material from the damaged area. You then need to thoroughly clean the area and dampen it to ensure proper bonding. After that, you’ll apply a bonding agent to the repair area, then apply new stucco in layers, allowing for curing time between each layer. The final coat should be textured to match the surrounding stucco pattern as closely as possible. Once fully cured, the repaired area can be painted to match the rest of the wall if needed.

Masonry screws are the best option to be used on stucco. They’re thicker and made to penetrate harder surfaces like concrete and cinder blocks. Fluted masonry screws work the best because they create a stronger grasp thanks to the lines on their shafts. If you’re working on exterior stucco, use galvanized screws to prevent corrosion.

Tools include trowels, floats, and patching compounds. Professionals use these for precise and durable repairs.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.
