Gilmer Animal Clinic

I started using GAC when I had an emergency and "my" vet didn't have time, my son's elderly dog was having seizures, he was in pain.  We wound up having to put him to sleep, they treated him with care and respect, although they had never treated him before.  Several days later, I rec'd a sympathy card signed by the whole clinic.  What can I say?  They were more sympathetic  and kind than most people doctors!  I take all my animals there now. This time I brought my daughter's puppy in for shots and neuter.  They use a laser so there is less pain and faster recovery time.  They suggested the micro-chipping be done during anesthesia which means Ewok doesn't remember any "owies".  They did a full exam and reported that one of his puppy canines hadn't come out and likely wouldn't on its own, so they removed it while he was asleep.  They think of everything!  The pain medicine was delivered to me in a bottle that is easy on my arthritic hands, and they were in a treat form, so no trying to get him to swallow a pill!   Ewok was sleepy when I picked him up, but very happy with the techs.  His tail was wagging and he was giving everyone kisses as we left.  His little nails were even trimmed!  I love that they actually talk to the owners, sharing experiences and being friendly.  My GSD, who can be a little standoffish is happy as a clam when we go see Dr. Ball and the girls.  I highly recommend them.  While they are not cheap, they are certainly less expensive than the more fancy vet I had previously.
