A gas-fired water heater: Mr. Stout did one parts-warranty repair that failed within days (cost to me $137 labor). Then he did another parts-warranty repair that failed, also within days (cost to me $160 labor). He claimed he was working with the manufacturer to resolve the issue, but I found out from the manufacturer that he had not contacted them at all.
He then walked away from the job without notice or explanation. He will not return phone calls or text messages.
The manufacturer attempted to resolve with me the problem with the water heater and recommended another plumber to complete the work (still at my labor cost). Their solution involves something Mr. Stout didn't even suggest, which verifies that he had no contact with the manufacturer's tech service department.
