Michael and his helper Mark were so professional and even let our dog Lucy say hello.  I had figured out what the problem was, and they were able to make the repairs quickly.  Michael also checked out the breaker box since I have a Federal Pacific.  He will come back in a month and replace all my switches and outlets in the house since they are over 40 years old and were not installed using the screws for wires.  

I have already passed his name onto someone who needs help with electrical repairs.  

I sent an e-mail to Wells Electric on Saturday, July 4th to inquire about service the following Monday or Wednesday.  Mike e-mailed me back Sunday morning and called me that night.  We set up an appointment for Monday morning.  He was here right at the time he said he would be and his professionalism gave me an instant feeling I had made the right choice.  The work was reasonably priced and done in less than an hour (two people working on it).  I can't stop smiling as I look at my kitchen with lighting again as well as my pool working well.  Angie's list has done it again - given me a wonderful, reliable and professional service company/owner.  I will recommend Wells Electric Service to anyone who ever needs the service of an electrician. 

I called Mike to schedule an installation of an outdoor ceiling fan with light fixture. A ceiling fan had been in that place before, but we already had taken it down. When Mike came out, he discovered that there was not a brace installed to support the previous fan. He recommended that one be installed, but he did not have one on his truck. Mike suggested that it would be less expensive for me to purchase one and he would return to install. When he returned, he performed the installation quickly and professionally. The quality of his work was excellent.

Our existing fluorescent light fixture had stopped working even though it was only two years old. I thought that the wiring might have been bad. I contacted Wells Electric based on a friend's recommendation as well as A ratings on Angie's List. Mike asked me to send a picture of the ballast of the current fixture. He recommended that I purchase a replacement in case the fixture was bad. If so, it would avoid another service call. If the existing fixture was not bad, I could return the new one. Once I purchased a replacement (not included in the price paid to the electrician), I called Mike to set up an appointment. He examined and tested the wiring on the old fixture to confirm that it was bad. He then installed the new fixture. Mike gave me advice on how to check whether the fluorescent tubes were going bad to extend the life of the fixture.

Mike Wells is very professional. He is prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. We have used Wells Electric Service in the past and will continue to use him in the future as our electrician. He is always on time; he explains what he is doing; and his work is excellent. Wells Electric Service's charges are very reasonable. We had bought a ceiling fan, and Mike told us it was the wrong kind for our low ceiling. We purchased a new one, and he came back the very next day to install it without charging an extra service fee. He just charged for his time. We are very satisfied with his work.

He came right over and rewired the 2 outlets involved, which was still smoking when he got here. He indicated our house was in danger of catching fire if not fixed. He checked the load on that circuit and determined it was being overloaded by the refrigerator and freezer among other things on it. The outdoor plug was black and totally fried! He rewired it and put in a GFI in for our safety.

He was very punctual about arriving on time. He called ahead and gave me an ETA. When I asked him to do some other side-jobs since he was here he stepped right up and did the work.
