Well after about 3 days I noticed that very little was actually getting done so I asked him to text me his daily hours and what all he accomplished. He stopped doing that after about 3 days so I started watching more closely. He shows up around 11 am and takes 2 hours to unload his tools and talk to everyone and then it may take him 3 full hours to hang ONE DOOR!...when I called him on it things started going downhill fast. If you hire this guy you literally have to stand over him like a child. hire him by the job he will try and get $25/hour which turns into $75/hour for his molasses pace. If he ever gets it done it should be right though.

Steve is fantastic! He's a great guy and incredibly honest and knowledgeable. Steve resurfaced my original wood floors from 1961 and replaced the carpet as well. He did exemplary work on both and came through with a price to where I was able to get all that done for less than $2000 total ($1,250 for Steve's labor and $500 for the carpet. I was able to get whatever carpet I wanted, wherever I wanted.). Granted, my house is very small (993sf) and only 2 small bedrooms were carpeted, but I would bet the money that Steve saved me that you can't get a better contractor for his pricing... he's probably better than several who are more expensive than him. To give you an idea of the quality of work he did, I put my house on the market within a week of him finishing, and his work was the highlight of all the upgrades/repairs that were done. We had 7 offers on the home in 24 hours and 6 of them were over asking price. There's currently a contract on the house for well over asking price. People liked the house, yes, but Steve's work was part of what made it so desirable. I recommend him highly to anyone who needs help with wood flooring or carpet. I'm betting he does other types of flooring just as well. Thanks, Steve!

Steve not only did a wonderful job installing the carpet, tile and Laminate - he touched up all the painting issues left by the painting crew and cleaned up after it all.  Replaced Blinds the painters should have, replaced weather striping around doors etc. And general handyman work.  We trusted Steve with house keys while on a cruise b/c he is a friend of a friend - and we couldn't be happier with his craftsmanship, work ethic and not all around good sense.

Steve alone did a better job than the 4 man team on our last tile job.

The job was done on time, on budget and has held up beautifully so far (3+months and counting)

Steve loves flooring and is very knowledgeable. He has done tiling and carpeting for me. He is a meticulous craftsman and reasonable in his prices.

Our experience with him was good. I probably would not do it again because it is not as durable as you think. However, it is very attractive and quiet. Little break things when you drop them in the kitchen floor. It has nothing to do with Steve though. It was expensive, but he found some damage that had to be repaired and special techniques were required for the rubber flooring, but we got the value for the money.

Steve replaced some hardwood flooring for me which warped back in 2009. Somehow, the flooring got wet again and warped. Steve came to inspect it and worked very diligently to help me find the issue. It turned out to be a problem with the air conditioner. Steve repaired the damage and once again did a great job. I also hired him to do several odd jobs around the house, and he did all of those to my satisfaction, and he made sure I was satisfied with the work. His fee was very reasonable.Steve is very personable and listens to his customer. He likes to start late in the morning, and works late in the evening, and I don't mind that work time preference from someone who does a great job.

I needed plumbing repair in my shower, and the plumber provided by my home warranty said I needed to hire a tile guy to remove and replace the tile. I found Steve on Angie's list. He's a friendly, funny guy. He really kind of saved the day, b/c the plumber didn't leave things in good order. Steve was able to fix the plumber's mistake and left me with a shower that looks like it was never touched. My only complaints: Steve was usually somewhat hesitant to commit to a time, but that's probably better than a contractor who tells you'll he'll be there at a certain time and isn't. Also, he smokes, and while he always smoked outside, my wife and I are both very sensitive and we smelled it in our house after he was gone. I also found a cigarette butt outside my doorstep, but he probably just missed one b/c that is the only one I found. Clean-up of the actual job was ok, but not thorough. I actually ended up paying Steve an extra $50 for his hard work (he was only going to charge me $175). I would definitely hire him again. We're thinking about replacing some of our carpet/flooring.

Once Steve got started, work progressed steadily if a little slowly. Steve is a one man operation, so that was expected. He was meticulous to detail, especially when it came to the complex instructions for the installation of this kind of flooring. He was personable, so we enjoyed working with him. His integrity and honesty were evident in his work and business dealings.

I had some water damage in some wood flooring. Steve helped me find a match for the flooring, plus a supplier. I ordered the flooring, Steve delivered it, let it acclimate to the house, then installed it. He was flexible on timing, and made sure I was satisfied with the work when he was done. And I was. I asked him for quotes for more work, and I'm sure I'll ask him to do more work.

Our project started when our daughter flooded our upstairs bathroom and we needed to replace the floor. I called Steve to give me an estimate for the one bathroom (I ended up having Steve install marble flooring in 3 of our bathrooms in the end). He showed up on time to do the estimate! He faxed me a professional estimate that listed all the materials and labor that was involved with the job. He even followed up with a phone call to see if I received the estimate and to see if I had questions. I knew right then this was my tile guy! When I purchased my marble, Steve even spoke to the salesperson to make sure I was ordering the correct materials and he made sure I was not getting ripped off. I liked that part a lot! When the marble was available Steve picked up all the materials and got started! He explained everything he was doing and why. The bathroom was an awkward shape so Steve spent a lot of time making sure the placement of the tile was correct to get the best result. He did not start laying the tile until I had approved the layout. I really appreciated that because and I never had to nag him to do the job the way I wanted it. He was just as much of a perfectionist as I am. The marble was installed beautifully and I was so satisfied with his work that I had him replace the floors in our other bathrooms and do a tile repair job in our master bathroom as well. In our master bathroom, Steve took out our damaged tiles on the shower seat and replaced them with new ones. Our master shower looks so much better now. I will definitely use Steve again on my next tile or flooring job. Steve is courteous, professional and very easy to work with. He shows up when he says he will and he does not rush through the work. He works diligently, carefully and gets the job done correctly the first time. I highly recommend him for any type of flooring work. FYI, Here's a breakdown for the cost of all the jobs Steve did for me. Labor for 3 bathrooms and master bath shower seat replacement was $3166.00 Cost of materials including marble, sealant, grout, hardy backer, thinset, etc. was $5410.00. Total cost was $8576.

I called Steve on a Friday and he said he could do the job that Saturday. Steve arrived on time, went right to work and finished the repairs in just under an hour. Steve took time to explain how one of the spots was a little lighter and said if we cleaned the carpets it wouldn't be noticed. Steve offered to take less money than he had quoted but the price was very fair and gave him what he quoted.

Steve was recommended to me as someone who could skillfully patch my water-damaged bamboo floor. He doesn't sell the flooring, but directed me to someone who did. He worked quickly and efficiently with a minimum of mess. When he was finished, it was impossible to tell where the old floor met the new patch. Several people have told me that's very difficult to do. He also fixed a lock I was having trouble with, for no charge. He's a very personable guy.
