ago when we bought the house!We hired RHD mostly based on a very strong recommendation from out neighbor across the street. She had done a big remodeling project with them about 10 years ago. She is a single woman who lives alone, and one of the things she told me that really sold me was that she had felt comfortable with all the workmen that worked in her house. I'm married, but was going to be in the house by myself for most of the project, so that made a difference to me. They were slightly higher priced than the other 2 contractors who estimated the project, but were worth the extra cost because they were very well organized, their subcontractors were really good craftsmen, and everyone was very nice and gentlemanly to work with. I especially want to praise the painters - they worked inside the house for 3 weeks, with my husband and I spending 2 or 3 days each week in a hotel. They were very considerate about keeping rooms accessible for us while were were in the house, and cleaned up everyday before they left. Our house was built in 1941 and has a lot of doors, windows, bookcases,cabinets and woodwork which they spray painted at our request. Their prep work was VERY thorough - many of the old doors now look better than they did 20 years ago when we bought the house.
