Republic Cabinets Direct

Republic Cabinet advertised free cabinet design, so I decided to give them a chance at a quote. I sent them over the dimensions of my kitchen and what I wanted done. After several revisions of the layout, we decided on a design. After getting a quote and giving them a go ahead due to a soon-to-expire sale, I waited several weeks for the "custom" cabinets to arrive. I was very specific on what cabinet fronts I wanted. When the cabinets arrived via the installers, one whole cabinet was missing(it had not been ordered). In addition, the fronts were not what I had specified and we agreed on. The installers were sub-contracted from another cabinet company in Dallas. They did a a very unprofessional job. There were holes in the backs of the cabinets, my sink was not centered and a lot of the cabinets were damaged due to the way they were handled. The layout did not match the drawings either. The sales guy who also did the design came out the next day after I sent him an email with picture of the cabinets. He agreed that the install was bad and apologized. He assured me he would make it right. It took a couple of months and two more visits from the installers to somewhat fix the damage. I was also given compensation for the hassle. Finally, the last time the installers came, they did a lot of touchup and tried to fix all of the damage. Despite their best attempts, the cabinets do not look new, due to the damage. Also, I had told the sales guy that I would be installing new appliances, but he did not design the refridgerator space for a standard fridge. As a result, the new fridge I had already bought did not fit and I had to sell it for a loss. The cabinets have turned out to be very low quality, warping and not opening and closing properly well after only a few months. The custom made laminate counter top is also not doing well, as the laminate is coming loose on the top. Overall, the cabinets are very low quality, along with the contracted installers work which was very poor. If the regular installer had been sent on the original job, it is possible that the installation issues might not have happened, however the quality of the materials would still poor.
