We used Pool Chlor for nearly 20 years. For most of that time they were great. But the service has really slipped. We had an algae problem that would not go away. The weekly service guy did not seem to notice and when I asked him about it snapped: "it's not my job to brush your pool." (In fact, I was brushing every day at that point and the problem was not going away.) When I called the company, they sent folks out to look at it a couple of times, but the people they sent out seemed to have no idea that the problem was ongoing. When I called the "chemical supervisor" he seemed put out, defensive, and claimed that the chemicals were fine and that the problem was probably our filter. When I pointed out that his company had just cleaned the filter he seemed even more put out. Bear in mind I was not calling to complain, I just wanted to work out a plan of action. He was so unhelpful that I called a couple of other pool companies. It turns out that there was so much acid in the pool that it had to be drained and the algae acid-washed. To be fair I do not know if Pool Chlor was responsible for the acid levels, since the pool had been resurfaced a few months earlier and started up by the resurfacing company. But I was unimpressed by both the weekly service guy and the "chemical supervisor." We have switched to another company, and while there will be cost associated with draining and acid-washing the pool, I am more than happy to pay it and be done with a service that seems to be populated by sullen and unmotivated employees and managers.

We signed on with them this summer, had filter cleaned also . They were great. Had pool remodel/resurface so had to suspend service until water was back in pool , about 3 weeks . Pool is now up and running and called to resume our usual weekly Monday service for 8/15/2016 and they said no!! Had a receptionist call me . She said they are too busy . It is 100 degrees out . I guess they thought I wanted a pool service to be inconvenienced, not to help take care of it. They are still advertising for new customers on their website. No manager even attempted to call me . Don't use them because they just don't need any extra business!

In general, their cleaning services were reasonable and they were punctual in their dealings. The only issues in this regard were that they left their report (the slip they leave after each cleaning) stuck on the outside of the sump basket and this frequently got wet or was otherwise unreadable. Since I did not complain about this to them, I am not going to lower their score for it.
We had a problem with some leakage issues. They did come out to fix it but their supervisor was very condescending on the phone to me and eventually hung up on me. I called their office to complain and could not get a hold of their manager Jeremy at that time. They left the service half way and did not finish the work and Jeremy said he did not want to deal with us anymore without even asking what happened from my perspective or wanting to know that. While I applaud his loyalty to his employees, I do not believe this is a professional way to deal with customers or leave them with a leaking pump that they have to now find a new provider for. I cannot recommend this provider to anybody else for this reason.

Great Price for the weekly service- seemed to have difficulty keeping pool technicians as there was turnover during our time with Pool Chlor.

"This customer has asked us to come back again for additional pool service since the events he wrote about occurred. He has requested our services for ten plus years. We believe his actions are a better reflection of our service than the overall grade he has given us. We disagree with his assessment of the level of training given our employees. All service techs are individually trained and receive excellent training before they are allowed to service a route on their own; after training their work is monitored and audited. The supervising manager is in his fourteenth year with our company. We send a supervisor out the next day to check on any complaints we receive."

I used Pool Chlor for about 1 year. Service was average however, had to make several calls to remind them to make sure my pump basket lid was tight, as it was sometimes loose and my pump was sucking air. I also had to call when they left the filter in 'service mode' several times so my filter programming didn't work. I would also say there is no personal service and no contact. They use 2 different service guys, 1 for chemicals and 1 for cleaning on 2 different days - not sure why, but I rarely saw the technician and never got a call or letter or note to tell me how the pool was functioning, if they saw any issues, when they added salt, etc. Watch out, they also charged me a $60 upfront initial cleaning cost even though I already had a pool cleaning service when I hired them. When they had a price increase this year, I decided to look elsewhere and found a better option on Angie's List. I was also trying to understand their billing when I cancelled service, and asked for the accounting/billing person to call me several times and never got a response. They are an AVERAGE company with mediocre customer service, yet their price is not any lower than companies with outstanding service. There are better options.

"It is always enlightening to see a transaction from the customer’s viewpoint. It gives us an opportunity to review how we do things. We felt we had answered all of his billing questions. Our phone log shows we returned and answered all of his phone calls and sent him an itemized statement going back several years to the date he started. We were unaware he was still puzzling over his bill. Our technicians are trained to be as non-intrusive in the lives of our customers as possible. They leave a service slip in the customer’s skimmer after they have been there. A supervisor will call if there is a problem. During the time this man had our service, we only had to make one call to the customer regarding a problem; we left a message; he did not respond back. Regarding the sloppy service he complained about, we agree. A service tech who does not tighten the pump pot lid or leaves the equipment in service mode is providing sloppy service which is not up to Pool Chlor’s standards. We apologize. To back up our commitment to providing the finest pool service available, when we get such a complaint, we send a technician out to fix the problem the next business day."

Scott came out to clean my pool filter. He was very nice, informative and helpful. I ended up needing a new filter (inside) despite his efforts to salvage it!

They perform weekly maintenance and meet expectations. Have really not demonstrated going over and above on customer service, but have only made one mistake, and that is leaving the pool computer in service mode, which prevented automatic cleaning functions.

They are very faithful and when they service the pool they leave everything exactly the way it was. They leave a note on what they did. They make it really easy; I don’t see them and they don’t see me. I don’t know they’ve been here and I don’t have to worry about the chemicals. I was spending about five times as much on chemicals before I used them.

They come every Monday and put in the necessary chemicals to keep my pool sparkling! They have been incredibly consistent over the years and I have NEVER had a single issue. I highly recommend this company.
