We used Longhorn to repair the foundation of a 95 year old property we had just purchased. The actual work performed was very high quality. The crew was very professional, and worked very efficiently and professionally. Our job required 2 separate visits over 3 weeks.
Our issue with this company was the follow-up after the job was complete. We have requested a summary of foundation work completed on 4 different occasions, so that we might have this info handy should we ever sell the house or need to reference this job if other work in the future needs to be done.
Our job was handled by Ron Birdsong. The last we heard from him, via a directive from the Longhorn rep (Gail) to provide us with the summary (for the third time), was on 10/28. Ron informed us that he had our request on his list of things to do but was swamped, and would get to it as soon as he could. Crickets since.
Although I highly recommend their actual foundation work, I would try my luck elsewhere if you would like any kind of documentation or follow up.

These guys are great. Did what they set out to do. 2 days after I called them up. LongHorn employee Kyle stopped by and did all the measurements . They dug around the property, and inside the house and torn up the floor to place piers. Foundation was very bad. Thanks to them, foundation pass 3rd party inspection for safety reasons and make sure I was not being cheated. The whole process took about 5-6 days which is very fast considering how bad the foundation was.
The only thing that was left to be desired was that they did not fill the holes back up except the inside the house and the driveway.
Since its Texas, warranty is only good for 5 years. I was easy on my wallet. You get what you pay for.

They came and looked. They did the original work on the foundation, that's why we called them.

I like Longhorn because they pour real reinforced concrete piers. All work is engineered, not guessed at.

This is the 5th house that Longhorn Foundation has performed foundation work for us....they always do an excellent job in the face of major problems with the N.TX. ground shifting. They dig their holes to rock to support their piers, and re-test the leveling of the house at the conclusion of the work.........We have always had good results with this company.......They
and quot;dig-to-Chinaand quot;, and do a great clean-up afterwards...

Longhorn inspected the property, made their required messages, and
recommended a course of action. The action required was to install 9
piers around one corner of the house. The corner included 15 feet of
the front of the house and 25 feet along the side of the house. After
the inspection, Longhorn scheduled the work, arrived promptly on the
scheduled date for the first of 2 dates. Longhorn arrived promptly for
the second date of the pier install and completed the work as
scheduled. They asked if I needed any of the dirt dug up around the
house for any projects. When the answer was no, they efficiently
cleared the leftover dirt and raked the new areas level.
Overall, very good experience.

The first time they worked on our house, over 20 years ago, they did a good job and fixed only what needed to be fixed instead of the whole house. The second time we called them, they did a terrible job by over raising one corner of the house till if broke a stud in the wall and damaged the patio door. When I immediately called them back because I still had cracks and a large contractor level on the floor told me the foundation was in fact NOT level, a man came out and guess what he did. He told me that he did not like to use a level on the foundation (that I had hired them to level) because he did not know if the foundation was level when it was poured. He preferred to put it on top of the door molding, which he did. When that also showed it was not level, he quickly put a thumb under one end of the level (like I could not see what he was doing) so it would put the bubble in the middle and said "See, it is level". I threw him out. I believed at that point that they would not come back and correct their badly done job.

They killed most of my landscape. Broke several sprinklers and skimmer covers on my pool. Within a year, I had to call them back due to shifting. After the initial work was done, I had the sheetrock and brink cracks repaired. Within a year of the work being done, the cracks came back. They came back but told me there was nothing they could do and have me some bogus excuse why. Beware that their lifetime warranty is worthless. If I had know, I would have found a much better company. Three years later, I have more cracking and shifting and doors that are difficult to open/close due to the shifting. I have also been very diligent about making sure to water the foundation when the summer as been so hot. It has been very frustrating.

The original brick column never had a proper foundation support and it shifted over time. Longhorn advised removal of the column by a mason so that a pier could be installed and the column later re-built. Longhorn designed the pier to be integrated into the existing foundation beams. However their working drawing was not completely clear to their workmen and we had to call Longhorn to get a supervisor on site to interpret and explain the drawing, both to their workmen and to us. If neither of us had been present the pier might have been installed incorrectly. Their workmen were prompt, careful, attended to details, and cleaned up the worksite very thoroughly. The final result appears completely satisfactory.

All I had done today was to have the house foundation inspected by a Longhorn Rep in order to have the warranty transfered (as I am selling the house). The inspector was quick, courteous, prompt, friendly, polite. Excellent. I had my foundation repaired by Longhorn last year. They were the lowest bidder, they did a great job, I recommend them.

He was late and told us to water the foundation and not worry about it. We later discovered that there were four beams in the foundation that were almost completely off the piers. Something he could have told us if he had gone into the crawl space rather than looking at the outside.

Contacted them as a result of neighbor's good experience. Very comfortable with the professional engineer that came to my home and gave me an estimate. Prompt answers to questions I had later. Underground utility lines were identified 30 days before job started and needed to be redrawn prior do beginning of job. Office clerk said, she would take care of it but, never did. Original lines were virtually worn away. Office called the day before as promised to tell us they would be out by 8:30 the next morning and they were. Holes were drilled and filled with concrete. One week later they came back as scheduled and on time to finish the work which was done in a professional manner with a couple of exceptions, covered one sprinkler head with dirt that if took me well over an hour to dig up and repair, did a poor job of replanting bushes and leaving too much dirt around most of them as well as too high on the edge of the slab. While we were told that bushes and scrubs could be damaged or lost at least one large bush died because of improper replanting. Both crew supervisors were friendlily and helpful. Were it not for the careless finishing work I would have gladly given this job and "A".

This extensive foundation repair is difficult and disruptive. Furniture had to be moved and carpets pulled up throughout the house. Cutting holes in the slab with a jack hammer caused concrete dust to go all over the house and settle everywhere. The workmen did cover furniture with plastic film. Around ten workers were required the first day and six a week later to jack up the house, etc. They worked steadily and effectively. Each seemed to know his job well. The clean up could have been done better, and more care could be taken to prevent minor damage to flooring, etc. The work was successful. It was done nearly five months ago and no further settling of the foundation has occurred. I am optimistic that I will have no trouble with it in the future. Perimeter piers installed in 1992 by Lonhorn on this house have performed well.

After being apprehensive about this kind of repair, we found the entire experience went very well. They were very competent and thorough. They did a good job of making the job look good with caulking and concrete finishing, as well as preserving existing plants and on the clean-up after completion.

Company performed work before estimated date due to a cancellation. Crew who dug holes for piers and poured concrete arrived on time, did the work and left a mess. The person who came out afterwards to level the sun-room, reset door locks, and patch cracks was great! He made sure everything was OK, clean and tidy before he left. Now, several months later there have been no problems and I am happy with the work they did.

WE WERE FAIRLY PLEASED WITH LONG HORN FOUNDATION REPAIRS SERVICE. HOWEVER, THEIR RESPONSIVENESS AND PUNCTUALLY WERE NOT VERY GOOD. THIS COMPANY WAS ALSO NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL.
