"Thanks for choosing Heritage Stonecraft. We apologize for any delay in scheduling. I checked the calendar and see that we gave you an estimate on 9/15 and scheduled a templating for 9/29. We then installed on 10/12. Usually our lead time from deciding to go ahead, to installation, is approximately two weeks. Best wishes."
"This review is not a fair characterization. The customer saw the slab before it was cut and reviewed the cutting plan before the cut was made. They first noticed these natural inclusions in the stone after it was installed and initially claimed we had somehow damaged or stained the stone. When we showed them the actual slab photograph and layout plan (made before the slab was cut, which they reviewed and approved) the inclusions were evident. I'm not sure what we could have done differently to ensure transparency in our process. All natural stone has variations. The "flaws" that the customer is referring to are just natural variations in color. If a perfectly consistent color was desired they could have chosen engineered quartz that we have on display in our showroom. In 2014 we invested over $400,000 in new technology and machinery. We are one of the few fabricators that have the technology that allows the customer to review and approve what the finished item will look like before it is cut. This eliminates surprises as the customer gets exactly what they see on the large computer display in our conference room"
The two gentleman who did the install (I wish I wrote down their names!) were very professional; they arrived on time, covered the floors of the kitchen and dining room, and were happy to answer any questions we had while they did the installation (and also very friendly with our curious dogs!) They cleaned everything up, gave us a checklist to inspect the work, and were done with the kitchen in around 4 hours. Later that day, the plumbing subcontractor called to confirm arriving the next morning to reconnect the plumbing (the adhesive for the sink needs to cure a day before reconnecting.)
We love the new counters, and couldn't be more pleased with the experience.
On the first visit Terry, the owner, came to my home and gave me a high level estimate. He is not pushy and is very professional.
Next I drove to Garland to pick out the granite and the way that the edging would be shaped. I found granite that I loved and they asked for a $1000 deposit to hold it.
At the next visit Terry used a laser to get the exact measurements of my counters. At that time I left them a check for half of the work.
Heritage created a computer model including a digital picture of the pattern in my granite. They asked me to come back out to Garland to view the model and approve it. They took me to a conference room with a very large monitor.
The installation was great. The men were very professional and the granite was perfect. The carefully removed my sink and cooktop and told countertops. The installation went very well.
The next day the installation company came back out to install my sink and the new cooktop. I was not happy with this part of the installation. The service tech was concerned because the oven would not go back in. I asked him to raise the metal wiring which fixed that problem. Next the oven did not reach the countertops. Together we discovered that he forgot to reinstall the shims. He also used a hammer to remove an exposed piece of metal above my dishwasher and told me that it was OK because I would use the door to open the dishwasher. Obviously this was unacceptable and I had to call Heritage to speak with him on the phone. At the end it was all installed correctly. Heritage contracted with the installation company and I can't really blame them for the bad service from this company.
I would use Heritage again. Their prices are great and they did a fantastic job.
It went fine and there were no problems. They were very good. They ran into a few problems such as when they took things off the walls there was leaking on the back of the walls so they had to repair that. They had to rewire the oven because my old oven was over 30 years old. Everything went in perfectly and they cut my granite to fit perfectly. There were no problems there and no problems on the tile. They did a beautiful job on re-staining all my cabinets. They did a fantastic job. They cleaned up after each time and everything worked out perfectly and I had no complaints with them. I liked them.
Remodeling our kitchen scared us so much it took a year of hand wringing before we made our decision. Based on reviews I read here, we went with Heritage.
I have to say I think this was the least stressful, most enjoyable large project I've ever experienced. Everyone that we interacted with was awesome. They tore out the old counter top and tile quickly and professionally, and installed the new granite the same day. The tile work started the next day and took 2 days because it was way more than just a backsplash. We tiled the whole connecting bar with two columns. They had to cut every tile. They didn't just slap it up and there and make it work. They carefully aligned the tiles and cut as needed to make it perfect.
The whole thing is beautiful. Not a single issue. Not one. I can't believe it. That might be because they schedule and handle every aspect. I wasn't dealing with a lot of different people or different companies. And there were a lot of little details on this project and they got everything right. The little mural behind the stove was even numbered incorrectly by the artist - and they caught the error. The didn't just blindly put them on the wall. That would have been bad.
Thanks Heritage Stonecraft!!!
