My outdoor AC unit was freezing up. Service person quickly found a very slow leak in my evaporator coil and recommended replacement of the coil or new system. Reasonable price and didn't overcharge for service or R-22.

Although my area is not usually in the service area, they took pity on me in the 90+ degree house that I came home to after a long [outdoor] work week of my own. They provided a same day service and didn't charge, as they could have, for the extra mileage. Emilio was super efficient and kind enough to check levels and vent temps to make sure everything was working before he left out. Perfect timing just before a rain storm, bless him!

I contacted Garland Heating and Air and asked for an estimate on repairing or replacing the condenser. I was told there would be a $85 service call for any repair made, and if a replacement was required that $ would be credited at the time of installation. Nothing was said about how much an estimate would cost. Tech came out (no idea who- he didn't introduce himself or have a card. 30-ish, dark hair, big build) and found nothing wrong. He made an insulting comment "are you babysitting" with regards to my 7 week old baby. Charged me $85 to fix nothing, and left. VERY unpleasant experience. I basically paid $85 to be told nothing's wrong and that I'm too old to be a mother. I will not be calling or recommending Garland Heat & Air to anyone based on my experience.

It was more than I expected. After the part replacement, the technician asked if he could use my water hose to clean the unit. He did a very thorough job and when he was through began to wind up the hose to place back on the other side of the house. I told him thank you, but I would do it. Since it was now on that side of the house, I would take the opportunity to spray some weeds. He was very courteous and helpful.

There is a reason that Garland Heat and Ac has been in business for 50+ years.

They have been out several times before and they are courteous, dependable, and very honest. Sometimes they can be a bit pricey but they are very good. You get what you pay for.
