CENTRAL PLAINS REPAIR

My air conditioner stopped working properly during Labor Day weekend.  I called my home warranty company which solicited the services of Central Plains Repair.  They sent someone out in an unmarked van who did not have a nametag or uniform identifying him as being associated with Central Plains Repair.  The temperature in my home at that time was 87 degreesAfter about 45 minutes of working on the air conditioner and thermostat, I started to feel cool air and was told that the air conditioner had been fixed.  Shortly after the repairman left, the temperature in my home was 85 degrees.  Shortly afterward it began to climb again despite the fact that the air conditioner was running.  I called the home warranty company to inform them that the air conditioner was not working again.  After their communication with Central Plains Repair I was informed that the repairman knowingly used the wrong part in an attempt to fix the air conditioner (I was not told this during the time he was at my home).  I needed to wait two and a half days for them to be able to obtain the correct part since it was Labor Day weekend.  The air conditioner was ultimately repaired, but I should have been told that they tried to use a part that may or may not work before they left.

To begin, this company was used through our home warranty. We did not have a choice in the matter, but if you do, stay away. Our AC went out a week ago and we placed a call with our home warranty. I was never called when they said they were going to call. When they did call to let me know what time they would arrive, nobody showed. I called them and they said, "sorry, I've been told to go somewhere else before we get to you". So in between the time they were called and said they were coming, they were redirected to another call. If I would have never called, I would have never known. Technician also threatened to walk away after I expressed my frustration with the entire event. The job will be completed, but not without issue.
