Within 3 more days they had a crew of 4 who trimmed tree, removed all limbs and trimmings from yard, roof and driveway and charged a fair price.

It took a couple of phone calls to get a time setup with Martin. The original day he was supposed to arrive he didn't show up, so when I called him he said one of his crew got injured at another job, so that is why Martin did not come and look at my job. It would have been good for Martin to call me and tell me this, rather than me having to call Martin and inquire why he did not come. When Martin did arrive, he gave me a quote, which seemed a tad high, but his crews were with him and he said he could get started immediately. I appreciated he could take care of my issues immediately, as my commercial insurance policy was requiring me to get the trees trimmed up for policy compliance. My main disappointment with Martin is that I was promised a receipt, which I never received. I have reached out to him repeatedly for this. In addition, I need his Taxpayer ID Number so that I can send him a 1099-Misc form for the work he performed. I have sent him the form three times and reached out to him four times to get him to send this to me. In conclusion, in a city where repeat business is what many contractors strive for, Martin seems interested in doing single projects and not building long-term relationships with customers who have the capacity to direct multiple projects to him.

In order of grading criteria above: Overall: Bad. Will discuss after the rest of the categories are explained. Price: Fair. Didn't know how much tree trimming would cost in my area, and Erik was the first to call and I was in a hurry to get the job done. This would prove one of the causal factors (hurriedness) of the overall bad rating. He did offer a military discount, which was appreciated. Quality: Bad. Having trimmed bushes myself in the past, there was debris left after the job was complete that I had to clean up myself, although Erik did offer to come out after I called him. Many of the cuts on the bush limbs looked 'hacked' vice a nicer cut and the hacked limbs were left our flush with the remainder of the leaf cuts vice recessing the limb cuts so the leaves can cover the limb. The actual tree trimming looks pretty good. We also had bushes in the back yard trimmed and Erik's team did not do any shaping of the bushes. They literally took a hedge trimmer and square cut the sides, leaving the top alone. These bushes look ridiculous. Luckily, they are in the back hidden by a fence, but they will ultimately need to be replaced as the bushes will not be able to be shaped after this mutilation. Responsiveness: Fair. Erik switched the appointment time after my request as I wanted to be present during the trimming to avoid any misunderstanding of instruction. I felt this was very accommodating. The issue driving to a Fair rating is that fact that I was not called prior to their arrival (which we agreed upon during appointment setup), and when I arrived at the agreed upon appointment time, Erik's crew was already there and done with the project, leaving me no room to instruct while his crew was on the property. Punctuality: Fair. See above comments on Responsiveness. They arrived earlier than agreed upon and started cutting. Erik was also not on site during the appointment. Only his crew was there and I am sure there was likely some misunderstanding due the language barrier. Professionalism: Excellent. Both Erik and his crew were professional during all interactions. Back to the overall rating: Bad. While Erik was professional, his crew arrived prior to the agreed upon time and did not call before hand to inform me that they were arriving early. The back bushes look ridiculous and the front bushes look hacked, although acceptable enough, I guess. Honestly, what can one do after the cut is completed...nothing. I had to clean up the back myself, and there was a lot of debris left in the pool. I wouldn't have minded the pool so much, but there was no attempt for Erik's crew to clean up the pool when the pool bush and drag basket were in plain sight. I regret paying $500 bucks for the job as I had two other calls after I had committed to Erik for less, but I believe in hand shake agreements, so kept my word with Erik vice calling him back with a lame excuse as to why I canceled on him. Having experienced a tree/bush trimming with him, now I am justified to not use his services in the future.

They did a great job. Cleaned up. I can't say enough good things about them!
