Excellent. I have used Mr. Bailey to fix my gate twice. Both times he evaluated the gat quickly while I was at work, called me with a quote and fixed it. This time it was only the battery, but a few years ago he did a more extensive repair but both times he did great work.

Boyd was prompt, professional and complete. He fixed the problem and then took time to explain a few settings, update the settings on the gate for better sensitivity and check power supply. Excellent service, very happy.

My electric gate broke this morning. I made 1 call to Dowd because he was well rated on here. I was not disappointed. He picked up the phone, made the drive to my house himself and had my electric gate to my driveway fixed before I got home from work. He mad e a call to let me know when he was on his way and another when he finished. I thought the price was fair for the responsiveness and professionalism he displayed. Gate was unresponsive to remote. I called in the morning and we made an appointment for later that day. Dowd showed up as promised. He checked & replaced the fuse, made adjustments and inspected the gate for any additional maintenance issues. All fixed now, and I know who to call when something more serious breaks.

Dowd was great.  I called out of the blue on a Thursday afternoon, and he not only answered immediately, but offered to stop by within an hour to look at the broken gate and test the motherboard.  Although I was at work, Dowd accessed the gate, and took the motherboard to his shop to identify the problem.  He called me within hours to let me know that I needed a new board, and then told me he could run to the wholesaler's store in Irving that afternoon and replace the board that same evening.  I told him not to worry about it and to come in the morning, and the very next day he had the board installed, the battery replaced (which ended up being another issue that required him to run out to Irving and back) and the gate fixed.  His prices were very reasonable - I found the board myself online for $285+tax, which would have taken days to arrive and me to try to fix it.  Dowd had the same board in his possession that day, and did all the work for $400.  Easily worth the cost of having a professional do it, and do it immediately.  

Dowd Bailey answered his phone right away and helped me understand that he could look at the problem gate the next day.  One week later the gate was repaired perfectly and I have no more problems.  The price was very fair. He is an excellent communicator!

I called Dowd and explained my need.  He came by on his way from a previous job to look at my gate and suggested options -- such as more aesthetic vs more cost-efficient.  I went for the cost-efficient approach.  Because it was a simple job that didn't require additional parts, he was able to schedule the work quickly.  Dowd made the repairs exactly as promised and according to the estimate. He touched up the paint on the gate and even swept up the dust greated by the sawing / soldering.  I will definitely use Bailey Fence & Iron for my future needs, and would recommend Dowd to others.

We messed up our electric gate and Dowd was quick to come out and fix the problem.  This is not the first time he has done that.  He is always responsive and knows exactly how to remedy whatever we have done to it and has the right parts with him so that he doesn't have to leave and come back.  We have his number in our "favorites" list!

Dowd repaired rusted out areas of wrought iron fence and gates that were fixable, replaced areas that were not.  Knocked off rust throughout and painted,

I called Dowd because of a violation notice from our HOA.  These noticed on the iron fencing were given to about 80 homeowners in the community.  One of the homeowners organized and effort and got bids from two construction companies, and I was shocked by the bids, they were more than we could really afford.  I felt that they were asking so much because they knew that the homeowners were under the gun from the HOA and just wanted the hassle to go away.  They wanted about $1000 more than what Dowd charged us, and he did more work that what they bid on (e.g.., we added the fencing across the balcony). 

Since he is a small business vice a large construction company, he didn't do it all in one visit but worked it in with other jobs.  That was OK with us, because we had some time to fix the fence, plus the weather was extremely hot    and we wouldn't expect anyone to work out in that heat with no shade. 

Overall, we were very pleased with the work and the price, and found Dowd  to be a very amiable and reasonable service provider.

Very professional job.  I am happy with the work and the price.  The only negative is that Dowd did not show up at the appointed time to do the painting of the gate.  He called and apologized and I certainly understand when things come up that prevent one from making an appointment.  I would definitely use his services again and would recommend him to my neighbors.

The work was very satisfactory. They were a little slow, but it did get done, and looked really nice.

Dowd came over very quickly and gave me a quote. We agreed and he came over with a helper the first day and finished by himself a couple days later. I am very happy with the work and would use him again. Friendly and professional.

Dowd was efficient and very nice. My assistant said he was one of the most courteous people with whom she had dealt when scheduling the appointment. He listened to me patiently as I described the problem and previous attempts to fix it.  He then spent about 30 min on the repair and verified that everything was set to my satisfaction before packing up his things. 
I will definitely call him again if I have needs in the future.

Mr. Bailey was prompt to come out and give me an estimate, he selected a good setup for us, and his price was great.   He and his helper installed the gate openers quickly and my wife and are very happy with the results.  Good, fast, and relatively cheap.  What more can you ask for from a company?  He's got my future business.

Dowd was very friendly, professional and helpful. We handled just about everything over the phone. He was the only vendor out of 5 from Angie's List that I called for this job that responded. I am thrilled with the finished product and would highly recommend him!

Dowd is passionate about quality.  He would often come by the house to verify that his measurements were correct and that the gate would work properly.  While the work did take longer than expected, the quality is really, really good at a very reasonable price.

The estimate process was prompt and very thorough. I knew exactly what to expect and then was still surprised by the end product and level of service! My ornaments and plants on the deck, including a complicated home-made watering system was completely moved and then reconstructed intact with no problem. Other areas which Mr. Bailey noticed needed attention,e.g., a sticking door, he went out of his way to fix. The railing is great! In fact, the longer portion of it needed some stablization once it was installed because of it's length and Mr. Bailey came out and installed a stablizing bar right away. The work is lovely, the owner is great. And I understand this isn't even his primary business focus. It;s automatic driveway gates. I would unhesitatingly recommend him for any iron work you need.
