Paul and his crew got to work right away and completely transformed our house. He even guided us with paint choices that ended up complementing the whitewashed ceilings. He was extremely professional and did an amazing job. Everything looks flawless. We had other issues come up during the move and he was able to coordinate his subcontractors to work with us. We were able to get everything done before we moved in at the end of the two week period. His son, Justin, is also super nice! We've already recommended Paul to our best friends and their hiring him to work on their home. We're planning on painting the exterior portion of the house in the future and you can be assured that we will be hiring Paul and his crew.

They never returned my call when I asked for a bid

I used Alvarez Painting for complete interior painting, repairs and carpet for an investment property (1500 sq. ft.) and the entire experience was excellent. They were able to work with me on a short timeline, the communication throughout was great, they were accommodating to the inevitable changes/additions that tend to pop up in renovations and their pricing was very fair. Paul and his crew did a fantastic job and I simply cannot recommend them enough.

I recently have gone thru a remodeling nightmare spending $$ thousands $$ of dollars and experiencing the worst drywall and paint job I've ever seen. To correct this I went to Angie's List and found Alvarez Painting Company. Paul Alvarez, the owner and General Contractor, was absolutely wonderful to work with! He assessed my issues, gave me a very reasonable bid, showed up on time with a professional and English speaking crew, sanded all my walls and cabinets down, used **quality paint**, covered all furniture, floors, counters, used extreme care in handling breakables, and did a fantastic job fixing the mess I was left with the first time around. Paul was also on property and working along side his crew the entire time so If I had any questions/problems, they were handled immediately. At the end of each day there was no mess, STRESS and very little dust. When they completed this phase of my project, they replaced all switch plates, etc, moved all items back to their original places. I could barely tell they had been there...no paint in my bushes, sidewalk, carport, brick....VERY Impressive! Whether you live in a million dollar home or a small condo, they will treat your project with the same respect and pride in workmanship. Angie's list rated them an A+, I would rate them an A+++! I am having Paul come back and finish out my bedrooms and then my home will be showroom ready, at least on the inside! Fixing the yard up is going to be another beast of a project!

I was very pleased with the job they did. Mr. Alvarez is very knowledgeable on the work he does. Will be calling him in the future to do more work for us.

Paul did a great job. I initially asked for the painting quote and Paul was very competitive. In addition he gave me an estimate for all other jobs I was already getting quotes for from other contractors like the hardwood floor, granite counter-top replacement and backsplash replacement. He was most competitive on all of them saving me thousands of dollars. The job took almost 3 weeks and was completed on time. Everything was done very well. Paul organized all the work and had no problem with me changing my mind in the middle of the project. Communication was excellent and there were no surprises. He even fixed our baseboards free of charge after the new carpet was put in resulting in small damage here and there. Overall I will use Alvarez painting for our future renovation projects and highly recommend everybody to give them a shot.

We called Alvarez painting to get our house ready to sell. We had wallboard damage in one room. We also had two skylight holes in the ceiling that had to be closed up. The entire house had "popcorn" ceilings and there was mssing/damaged trim inside and outside of the house. Paul Alvarez and his team did an outstanding job. They were clean, courteous, professional and did everything possible to make the experience painless. While it is impossible to have someone in your house for 3 weeks without problems they did an outstanding job and immediately responding to any, and all, issues we brought up. Highly recommended!

I was extremely pleased with the work Fast, prompt, and punctual on estimate....estimate was provided on the spot Job was scheduled to begin next day....job was completed on time as promised One of the tasks was difficult to complete as the faucet needed for replacement could not be found. Paul investigated and found alternative options that met the needs of the job. Very resourceful Pricing was VERY fair Paul did not ask for any cash up front.....no money exchanged until job was finished I will definitely call on Paul for future projects and would gladly recommend his service to others

They did such a great job and I cant wait to use them again for my kitchen. He is a very nice guy, honest and he is also a christian.

This was a major scope-creap project. Started out with repairs to a closet that had held the water heater. Then we expanded the project to include refinishing and painting the walls in two bedrooms, a hall, a bathroom, the laundry room - and installing wood floors in the entire bedroom wing of the house, including closets. So all furnishings were removed and replaced. Plus we added new doors through-out the house - started with three doors and finished with 12 - door frames are all off alittle due to this being a 45 year-old house. Paul and his team were very flexible, were very diligent, and cleaned up after themselves. They started at 8:00 am and finished at 6:00 pm. They only took breaks for lunch - no smoke breaks, or rest breaks - they worked! When I asked about floors, Paul brought in a sub-contractor that laid new hickory foors - previously carpet - and they were finished to our specifications with a matching stain to the wood in our living areas. Paul Alvarez was on-site throughout the project and acted as my project manager - we had a running list of items that we worked through together and he kept up with the list. The last item that they finished was the wine closet that they created from the old water heater closet - creative solution. We will have Paul and team back after the first of the year to refinish our bedroom/office, which will be a small project by comparison. Paul helped us to create solutions around color and texture for the rooms that we finished and he ensured that the work was performed to our satisfaction. His team treated our home and furnishings with the same care that they would use in their own homes - they were all professional and courteous.

The job was scheduled and completed very quickly. The two men that came to paint the house worked very hard and did an excellent job. Mr. Alvarez came by to give them instructions and then to follow up once the work was complete. I am very satisfied with the way the house looks.

He did a wonderful job. He did it right on budget and didn’t go over. He was always on time. It was perfect.

They were very responsive because I did not plan ahead and they responded the very next day after my garage floor was refinished and all my stuff was out on the driveway. Their painting quality was fair in my judgment. I had to point out areas where they missed caulking. I also found where they did not paint the top of some shelves.

He skimmed/painted and I paid him the $1,500 in cash. I called (and texted about 3 times) Alvarez to tell them they missed some paint in some areas. I never once received a return phone call. Additionally, a week goes by and I begin to put up my crown molding and the walls are so uneven, there are two inch gaps between the crown molding and the walls. I had to reskim the entire room.

The house was built in 1979 in the northeast part of Garland, over the last three decades it had developed foundation problems. Last year I repaired the foundation and plumbing problems. This year in June I contracted with Alvarez Painting Co. to repair the sheetrock. He repaired the cracks, retextured, and painted. I had asked him for walls that looked as good as the ones that you see in a new house model. I got what I asked for and as of a month later I think they look better than some I see in model homes. The wood door had been installed by a different contractor who could not get the color right. Paul's stripped it and restrained it, now it looks much better. The window sill had been practical board that had gotten wet and blotted and was falling apart, Paul replaced it with Poplar which is a much better wood then I had expected.

We are very pleased with the work and feel it was a fair price for their time. Also they were able to get it done within two days after my initial call. Paul and his worker were very courteous and professional, and they left no mess.

I read the reviews expecially the bad ones and decided to take a chance. Wow! Was I happy! In my guest bathroom I required the wallpaer to be removed and the walls painted. The 1st painter removed most of the wallpaper and revealed electrical holes left by the builder. He painted the walls without covering the holes or smoothing the walls. I called Mr. Alvarez and explained the situation. He came by looked at the bathroom and gave me a price. He came alone early on Tuesday patched the holes and mudded the walls. Thursday he and another gentleman sanded the walls and painted. The wallls are glorous. They are smooth and uniform in color. I plan on having him come back and do the interior of my house. YEAH!

I called Alvarez Painting to get an estimate to have some cracked sheet rock repaired/replaced. Due to the fact that my wife and I both work a significant distance from our home, we asked if it would be possible to have them come out on a Saturday. I was told it was and he agreed to come out on Saturday the 21st (via a text). On the morning of the 21st, I sent a text message asking for a confirmation of our appointment. He replied back via text two minutes later confirming the appointment, saying it would be early afternoon. A little after 3pm, I called, got no answer and left a message asking when he would be coming. It's currently 8:30pm and I never heard anything. Needless to say, I will not be giving them my business.

Excellent. He was able to come the very day I called him.

Initially I contacted Paul Alvarez to paint my living & dining rooms, hallway, kitchen and laundry, guest and master bathrooms. As we went along, I asked him for his price to do additional projects. Before Paul could begin painting, there was extensive damage to the wall in my living room from Ant infestation and he re-built the wall as well as filled cracks in the wall. Paul had a crew of approximately five (5) workers who followed his directions regarding laying the laminate & ceramic flooring and painting. Another company was contracted and paid to lay the laminate and ceramic flooring, but quit before finishing the project. Paul stepped up and offered to finish these projects and at a lower rate. During the painting and floor laying, all my furniture was covered and protected. At the end of each workday, Paul and his crew left my house clear of trash and tools. Items that were trash were neatly stacked on the curb to be picked up on trash day by the City. Paul did such a fantastic job, I took pictures of the progress and showed his work to my friends and co-workers. Several even asked for his telephone number for possible projects. If Paul had to pick up items from Home Depot, the store's sales person called me to take my payment information and at the end of the project, Paul gave me a breakdown of work done as well as copies of all items purchased. I am very, very pleased with the outcome of these projects, my home looks like a new place and when I am ready to paint my four (4) bedrooms, I plan to contact Paul Alvarez to do the projects. Paul treated my projects like a job, he and his crew started work each day between 8:30 AM - 5 PM. He was very professional and answered my questions. He is a professional with great ideas based on my specific taste. .

I highly recommend them. I had a lot of damage when the sewer line overflowed into my house. I had damage to 3 or 4 walls and about 2 feet from the floor was cut out and had to be replaced. He didn't have to repaint the whole living room because it only affected one wall, but he made the whole living room look new. They were amazing. Worked all day while I was at work & when I got home, things were put back so that I could still live in the house while the work was being done. Very professional! I would definitely use them again for anything I needed repairs on. I tell everyone about how great they are!!!!!

The contractor was quick to respond to our Angie's list inquiry. He spent several hours with us reviewing the job before placing his bid. His initial bid was within the same range as two other bids we had received when we were choosing our contractor, but changed after the job began.... Several things were disappointing about this contractor's work: Re: PRICE 1) The contractor underestimated his labor in his original bid-the contractor should have taken more time to accurately estimate his labor instead of expecting the client to pay additional fees at the end of the job. This dropped his score on price from a "B" to a "C" 2) The contractor never showed any invoices for supplies he purchased for the job (that we had agreed to reimburse to him)-He just stated we owed him "x" amount of dollars for the supplies. This dropped his score on price from a "C" to a "D" Re: QUALITY 1) The plaster work in several rooms had multiple patches of air bubbles that needed to be repaired, and a wood inlaid floor in need of restoration was "undetectably restored". This dropped his score on Quality from a "B" to a "C" Re: RESPONSIVENESS 1) The contractor was hesitant to repair items on "the punch list" that were unsatisfactory to us (i.e. the air bubbles in the plaster and the wood inlaid floor). We really had to press him to finish the work after we had paid him, and he never returned the key after completing the job. This dropped his score on Responsiveness from a "B" to a "C" In summary, When people plan a remodel on a budget, it is disheartening to work with a contractor that either can't, or won't, manage a budget for the job-"D" for professionalism

Paul and his crew did excellent work in a professional manner. They will be doing more work for us in a few weeks. Paul responded quickly to my initial call, came to our house 2 days later to view the requirements, sent a reasonable estimate the next day, and performed high quality work in the agreed time-frame. They did a few "extras" at our request and the price was very reasonable. His crew was quiet, clean, and respectful at all times. Paul runs his business well.
