From the initial meeting to completion of the job, Randy was professional, knowledgeable and easy to work with. He separated himself with his knowledge, straight forward approach, and honesty. The work done was very professional and his experience showed. Would not hesitate in using home again.

Fantastic work--I was very pleased. This was a patch for the front of our building, so I was worried that the stucco work would not match, but it was a perfect match--no one would ever be able to tell that the work was done. So glad to have found someone who really knows their stuff-- a real craftsman.

It looks great, stucco is a difficult material to work with it seems and it turned out quite nice! He was the most sufficient out of all the other stucco people we have used, he was very informative and knowledgeable, we were very pleased with the work that was done.

I contacted Randy and he was extremely eager to offer suggestions so the window could be installed with minimum disruption; he was obviously very experienced about all things stucco. His quote was fair based on the job. Because he does most of his work himself, it did take him a few weeks to find time to come out and cut the wall, but that was fine. He cut away just enough of the inside of the wall to allow the new door to be installed while keeping the outside of the wall intact. After the door was installed, he did an excellent job re-stuccoing the wall. I really appreciated him offering to save me money by allowing me to repaint the portion of the wall he re-built. The lasting impression I have of Randy is that he is definately a perfectionist, something rare these days. Note; the attached picture is of the unpainted wall the day he completed the job.

A leak in my attic resulted in a flooded house.  The insurance adjuster determined the ceiling and one wall needed to be removed and replaced.  A general contractor told me that it could be repaired- rather than replaced.  I was concerned that neither the adjuster or contractor were experts when it came to plaster and lath costruction and I needed an expert opinion.
I found A1 on Angies List and Randy came out on his lunch break the next day. I was prepared for him to tell me that removal was necessary (because that would be in his best interest).  After checking out the attic and the inside of the house Randy advised me that in his opinion, removal was NOT needed.  He took the time to explain why I should not be concerned about the adjusters initial assesment and gave me a quick lesson in the makings of plaster ceilings and walls. It's obvious that Randy is a true "plaster and stucco" man. He appeared to actually enjoy educating me about the process.  It's nice to see someone so "into" their area of expertise.

Owner Randy Phillips did the estimate and work personally. He is an expert in the area of stucco repair with decades of experience. This is all he does. Randy repaired a large bulge in the exterior side of the house and repaired stucco that was breaking loose from a porch overhang.  My home was built in 1982 and has the original stucco.  My research that led to finding Randy on this list revealed that this type of stucco repair requires someone proven skill, not the average multi-tasking handyman.

He diagnosed the problem, gave the solution and started and finished the job on time doing it right the first time on budget...Perfect, no hassles.  I recommended him to my neighbor who had the same result.

I highly recommend Randy for repairs to EIFS Stucco.  First, I must say that I will only use Randy for my stucco repairs.  He is extremely knowledgeable and very honest.  I completely trust his judgement.  This is the third time I have used his service for EIFS stucco repair.  (He was referred to me by my neighbor that also uses his services for their stucco repairs). He is an expert on the EIFS cladding system - and has a couple of decades of experience with it - he is truly an expert in his field.  I am a very picky person - and his ability to match the existing EIFS stucco is exceptional!  He is very professional and has always been quick to respond.  He is truly an artist when it comes to stucco - you will be very happy with his work.  He is capable of identifying and executing repairs on any type of stucco finish.  He has put me at ease with my repairs and has educated me on my EIFS stucco cladding.  I can't say enough positive things about him - very smart guy and very professional contractor.

Randy is professional and does quality work. He came out at a time that was convenient for me (on a Saturday) and did not charge me more because it was on a weekend. I had several estimates and he was the least expensive. He returned my calls in a timely fashion. I would use him again if I have any more issues.

We can't say enough good things about our experience with Randy. He met us the day after we contacted him, was friendly and professional, and got the job done that weekend. He was up front and honest about our situation and what our options were. Most importantly, he is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to plaster. We had been burned by our previous contractor, and it was reassuring to have someone come in who knew what he was doing and would get the job done right the first time. This is a very specialized field and Randy is a great craftsman. We highly recommend his work.

Competitors would only re-stucco and not repair cracks with quotes in the 40K range. Randy was willing to caulk cracks where appropriate and refinish stucco on larger imperfections. I was a bit worried that the job might be too large for him, but he rose to the task, renting a boom lift and matching the stucco color almost perfectly. Randy did great quality work in an industry typically overrun by cheap foreign labor.

When Randy came out to make an estimate, he explained all the possibilities and approximate prices. He took a sample of the old stucco to make a color match. A few days later he e-mailed a firm quote. There were two major challenges: matching the color and color variability and matching the 1960's vintage hand thrown blobs texture of the rest of the wall section that did not need to be replaced. When I selected him, he scheduled a start date a few days later. He started on Friday morning taking off the old stucco that needed to be replaced until he got to good solid old stucco (about 35 square feet). He then installed new corrosion resistant lath and applied the base layer of stucco to the wall and the brick ledge below the wall. Saturday morning he applied the texture layer and sealed the new stucco to the windows, brick walls, and water hydrant. He then cleaned up the area and was done by mid afternoon. He e-mailed an invoice that I paid by mail. The new texture was a very good match to the old texture and blended into the adjacent old stucco. The new color started out dark while it was still damp. After a week of curing and drying the new color is just slightly lighter than the surface of the old stucco. Most people will not notice the difference but I will try washing the old stucco to see if it is coated with dirt, mold, and mildew after 40+ years that I can remove to get a better blend between the colors of old and new (pieces of the old stucco look lighter inside than on the surface). Randy did a very professional and artistic job of patching my old stucco.

On entering my garage, I damaged the corner with the bumper of the car. I called Randy that morning, and he got back to me soon after I left a voice mail. He came to my house the next day, which was a Friday and examined the damage and walked the exterior of the house to look for other damaged areas. He demonstrated a great deal of knowledge about our stucco product. He provided an estimate and said it would take 2 days as the stucco needs overnight to dry. Randy came back Monday worked a couple hours and the next day returned and finished the job. Although there was a cost for close to 10% of the total bill, he ate the difference and charged only the amount of his estimate.
It was a pleasure to work with Randy, and I will definitely call him should misfortune strike again.

Fantastic experience working with Randy. Stucco houses are new to us and unlike other companies who provided estimates that were more much more expensive and included extra work that really didn't need to be done, Randy was upfront and direct about which pieces we should do, which were unnecessary/cosmetic only, and how we could help maintain the stucco on our own moving forward. Affordable, reliable, easy to work with and quality results: I won't be looking anywhere else for stucco help in the future!

The plaster had to come up and butt up against an antique brick wall, and his work is impeccable. It is hard to find a good stucco-man. He is a real craftsmen who learned from his father.
