I called at 8 am on Monday morning and left a message for the owner Chris Crews.  He called me back about 10 minutes later, sent 2 of his employees out immediately, and the problem was solved before 9 am.  I call that TOP NOTCH service, especially for Galveston Island where nothing seems to happen in a hurry.  I will definitely call Island Air & Heat for any future HVAC issues.

They showed up within 1.5 hours of my call, which is rare on the West End of Galveston on a Friday, which is a big deal when it is a weekend home and you are only going to be there a couple of days.  They were very professional and explained everything to me so that I could understand..  I would definitely use them again.

I contacted Island Air & Heat via e-mail on their website on Thursday about 6:00PM.  I received a call the next morning (Friday) from the owner to arrange a time.  He was very accommodating for me and we agreed on 4:30 PM.  The techs showed up exactly on time and jumped right into the job.  They had to up plug the drains and top up one of the units with Freon.  They were done in about 30 minutes time.  The techs were very professional, knowledgeable and considerate.

About a week later, one of the condensers' capacitors blew (nothing to do with the previous service).  I sent them another msg via their website.  The owner called me within an hour or so.  He and his techs came to the house that afternoon and replaced the capacitor -- for a very reasonable price.

I had seen their work a few years ago and had some interaction with the owner at that time and was impressed by his professionalism then.  Hard working and knowledgeable crew.

The crew showed up earlier than scheduled (which is a good thing to me) but when they discovered my unit needed freon they said they would have to charge me the regular rate plus cost of added freon. While not happy with this I will probably use this company at least another try as it's the closest to my home.

When the A/C stopped cooling, I called Island Heat and Air, based on Angie's List recommendations. The service tech came out, diagnosed the problem as a leak in the system due to corrosion and told me I probably needed a new outside unit.  I agreed and he then added freon to the unit until he could get the replacement unit in.  The installation was smooth and uneventful.

The work was good, they were very accommodating. The workers were friendly and on-time. I also though that the price was very fair, and the quality was good.

I've done business with him before. Chris Crews is the owner and they work in the Galveston area. He does a great job. He is prompt. He does good work at a reasonable price. I would use him again.
