BILL HYNEK WOOD FLOORS

We have an Historical Home ( circa1887) that has been under a full restoration and remodeling for 16 mo. Some of the flooring is new to match existing from the 1920's. Initially I hired someone else who'd been referred by a friend and who's website had good reviews. I myself am a retired contractor / designer from Houston now living in Galveston so although I've had lots of experience I've been out of the business for a while and new to town. The end result on the top floor was horrific......... My oak looked like mahogany, there were black stains, bad gouges, puddled polyurethane and $ 6500.00 down the drain. I contacted Bill . He came the next day to talk to me. He started shortly after our meeting. His price was comparable but his knowledge and experience was far superior! No dust or mess. His demeanor is very easy and approachable and he keeps you informed of everything he's doing and when he's doing it. He was very attentive in choosing the right color of stain for me and used professional grade products. The results are outstanding . He truly rescued my floors and after all the planning and hard work that has gone into the restoration we narrowly missed a disastrous end with the other guy. MI so wish I'd hired Bill from the start!

The floors were original to 1955 house and had damage from Hurricane Ike. The boards were practically U-shaped, discolored, and stained. Bill Hynek did such an outstanding job refinishing the white oak floors. He said he had a hard time sanding and it took him longer to finish. He was concerned that we were going to try to stay there, concerned about the fumes (we didn't stay). He put several coats of wax, told us how to care for the floors. We were so delighted with the beautiful finished work. He has refinished the floors in historical homes. We are glad to be one of his customers! Nice guy.
