This is our "getaway home near the beach" and we are usually only in Galveston on weekends and extended time off.  When we aren't there, family members are able to use it.  The previous weekend we noticed the upstairs a/c not working (do not often use upstairs) and a local repair service was called from the local phone book. The service tech said the installation of unit was a mess and we needed a new fan and he was not interested in the work. The following weekend, I hit my friend up (Anigie's List)!  I found and telephoned Alex's Air Conditioning at approximately 11:30 AM Saturday and left a message.  Phone call was returned within five minutes and I explained our problem.  Since this unit was not critical to our comfort I explained that if it could not be fixed that day I could authorize future repair and providea credit card if problem could be diagnosed, parts ordered, and repair at a later date.  The dispatcher explained the additional weekend/after hour fees so there would be no surprises.  She also let me know, there would be a fee even if they couldn’t fix it that day; which I totally understand, as not too many people work for free :).
By 12:20 Juan the technician called and said he was on the way.  Because of holiday traffic he thought he could be there within 30 minutes and he was on time.  Upon Juan’s arrival with his trusty ladder and tools; he inspected the unit, both outside and in the attic and said the capacitor was out and the fan cover was off and screws were missing (hmmmm).   He replaced the capacitor and the fan cover and the unit started to work.  He went outside and checked the Freon and said we could use another two pounds, which we had him do.  He inspected all the connections outside and tightened ones that were loose.  Juan was very neat and professional and let us know in advance what he was prepared to do and what we were going to need. 
This morning (Tuesday already!) when I got to work, the dispatcher from Alex’s Air Conditioning called to ask how everything went and for my email address so she could provide my credit card receipt.  I again expressed my thanks to her and Juan,
and let her know how happy we were with the service!
You can bet that when we have any future problems or need to replace either of our units, we will be calling Alex’s Air Conditioning!

The knowledgeable air conditioning specialist goes up in the attic, cleans up his work area and the floor if debris falls from the attic stairwell.  He treats the ac pan and overflow drain with preventative against mold and mildew.  Checks all fans, belts, electrical connections, ductwork, etc.  Then outside, in the summer, he cleans all debris from the unit, vacuuming leaves etc and checks all connections, cleans the coils and....does not trample my flowers doing it.  He leaves a written report showing what he did.

They are fantastic. The job went excellently. They were very professional and prompt. Altogether, they were wonderful.

The a/c was blowing hot air and we asked them to come and do an assessment. They came out and said that the outside unit was going out, but the inside had a couple more years but really should be replaced. We chose the cheaper of the four warranties. They were able to get the unit and replace it within a couple of days. At the time we were concerned about the heat building up in the house for my daughter and grandson.

He was extremely professional and helpful. He was on time and did the work quickly.
