Fauxnomina

Justin was supposed to paint one large wall which was supposedly going to be the focal wall of the room which involved several steps.  He usually came at night and one night, he stayed all night.  He messed up in one area, and his mother told him to redo it.  He came back to repair it, and it was even worse.  His mother told him to come fix it, and he never came back.  There was one place that looked like he had gotten the darker paint, and it nearly looks like a hand print.  I had paid him about half of the money up front for supplies (?).  He wanted the rest of the money before he finished, and I told him no.  He was wanting the money for plane tickets for he and his son to go see his dad.  His mother talked me into paying him and she would personally be responsible for him finishing the job and guaranteed my satisfaction.  It never happened.  To top it off, Teresa Plitt, his mother, didn't finish her contract, and I had to hire another painter to redo Justin's work and Teresa's work.  I was shocked because I used them in another home and was VERY pleased with the work.  Teresa just quit in the middle of the job and left me hanging.  She hired as man to do the regular painting and trim work and she was going to do the custom painting. I eventually found out that she had never worked with him and only hired him at Justin's recommendation.  She had me pay him off before the job was completed correcly, and personally guaranteed to fix his mess.  That didn't happen either.  I learned to never take a promise from people I considered friends.  She has not, to this date, provided me with the contract that I signed, (which she was going to make a copy and return since I didn't have a copier at the site) nor will she provide me with SS/tax numbers for either of them.....

Took provider approximately a week and a half to do a 15 x 15 foot patio.  Spent more time away from the job than on the job.  During the process, he left cigarette butts all over the yard, stored his chemicals in my shed, peeled all the paint off of linoleum floor by leaving his chemicals out, never cleaned up anything.  As he finally took his equipment out, he poured his cement under a tree in my yard, cementing the tree to the ground - it will die.  I called him back several times after completion to fix bubbling of the top coat, add aggregate because patio was too slick to walk on - each time making the work he originally did even worse.  ONE YEAR later, I've given up on his repairing his own shoddy work.   He did not put an expansion joint in where the patio meets the step, so it caused his faux work/the top layer of cement to raise up about 12 inches and crack to pieces.  Have talked to him numerous times and he always said he's be right over to check the problems and fix them and has NEVER shown up.  Eventually, I chiseled the whole thing off myself.  I have pictures.
