"Please take a moment to read our response with regard to pricing! The member is absolutely correct that we provide a service that can be difficult to estimate. In an attempt to establish appropriate expectations prior to starting this project we provided a written estimate. At the bottom of the document in large bold print we attempt to emphasize the unpredictability of drying out water damaged homes. "This service estimate may change based on unforeseen circumstances and drying conditions that are encountered." When the affected building materials did not dry within the three days we originally estimated we felt like we communicated adjusted expectations with the member's spouse. Yes, the additional drying time resulted in additional charges and the project changed from being a "self pay" to an "insurance claim." Our written estimate, also in bold print, says, "If this project results in an insurance claim, the Xactimate Estimating System will be used." The insurance carrier reviewed our invoice that was produced in Xactimate and paid it in full without a single question being raised. This invoice was supported by detailed unit costs, drying records, equipment logs and worker time action reports that included our travel records. After we completing this project we contacted the member and asked if they would complete a "service endorsement" that would provide us timely feedback on the service we provided but never received a response. Our phone records differ slightly from the member in that we show one call requesting a copy of the invoice that we had submitted to the insurance carrier as stated in our service authorization. (Typically a copy of our invoice is provided back to the insured by the insurance carrier when they pay our bill.) When we pulled the invoice it looks like we found the $150 credit had not been applied, alerted the member and mailed the refund check. We have made an internal process adjustment so this will not happen again. After initially seeing this review we have called the member on three more occasions leaving two messages in an attempt to respond to their concerns privately but have never received a call back. Finally, if you scroll thru the dozens of reviews that follow, you will find we have 17 pages of reviews from 85 satisfied clients. Regarding "Price" we have 55 scores that include 42 "A"s, 11 "B"s, and 2 "C"s. We sincerely apologize to the member for any confusion we may have caused and we will continue to work hard to establish and communicate accurate pricing expectations. I hope the member will call me directly ay 469 656 7000. Jim Bauer - Owner"
NOTE: this company does not provide replacement work. So, I had to call in a separate contractor to reapply insulation, sheetrock, texture, and paint. This was an additional expense ($650) to this project (not included in the "Approximate Cost of Service" listed above).
The work was completed promptly. However, I am not sure this was worth $1064. However, with the scare of having mold growing in our house, we went ahead and had the work completed anyway.
Even if a company was busy and unable to help us, we still expect them to be professional enough to send at least an email or make a phone call apologizing. This was unfortunate given this provider's previous reviews.
"My name is Jim and I'm the owner of PuroClean. Please call me directly on my cell phone at 972 8328282. I'm so sorry and speechless that you have not been able to contact us. We have spoken to and helped dozens of members in the last few weeks. I'm not aware of any problems with our phone or e mail system but hope to speak with you soon so I can research what has occurred. We are so concerned about missing service calls that we actually call back any callers that hang up when we answer. Please call me so we can try to understand what has happened with our phones or so we might still be able to help you with your property damage situation."
