Review for Plumbing by Jay...after a fairly minor visit, we knew our hot water heaters were probably on the edge of utter failure...our 3 were installed in 2007, so on the extreme side of shelf life for H2O heaters. Typical 8-10 yrs if lucky. Jay did a quick visit after other visit to give us a quote and was super thorough regarding attic H20 heaters to include an intelligence leak detection so if there's ever any kind of leak or water w/in the pan, an auto shutoff occurs on valve in addition to an alarm/beeping to let you know. Yes an additional small cost but knowing anyone who's not had, the damage is not good. Jay was awesome on install day, was prepared to lay down drop matts everywhere and did his magic. 3 new H20 heaters and able to indicate 1 was about to go, so very lucky to get him in when we did. Great pricing, great customer service. Extremely happy and highly recommend Jay for all plumbing needs. Not gonna post pics cuz who wants to see H20 heaters in attic?? But if needed I would/could...don't delay if yours is 7+ years old. Better safe than sorry.

Jay is a nice man, but obviously very much in demand. He can be hard to get hold of and schedule, particularly for an emergency, but as this was for a non-emergency this worked out fine. We did have a few minor hiccups when water came pouring out of pipes when I think he had forgotten to turn the valves off before turning water back on or something like that, but it was quickly cleaned up with some of my old towels. Everything else proceeded uneventfully. It also took a little bit of time to get a receipt (perhaps a week or so) but I think it's just because he is really busy with the amount of work he has on. Overall very nice but given he can be hard to get scheduled we are now using another plumber as our primary "first call" plumber.

Jay replied promptly to my call and arrived at the scheduled time.    He spent about 30 minutes diagnosing the problem and presented me with several alternative solutions, including pros and cons and pricing of each.     He spent more time than estimated to complete the work due to rain and snow plus difficulty getting access to the supply line, but kept me informed throughout and finished the job at the estimated price.   I found him to be responsive, reliable, and trustworthy and an excellent alternative to chain plumbing contractors.

They are honest and fair on price. They are a small company but they do far more work.

Jay is a class act and did a great job today. I would highly recommend. He is the son of a plumber, local guy small business owner who works on his own which I really appreciate. Jay is a straight shooter who does what he says he is going to do. He and I communicated via email and made arrangements over a few exchanges after he provided some good advice to my problem. Since he isn't part of a large company you will get Jay or his wife communicating back with you. No auto replies. He showed up when he said he would, and the price was what he said it would be. In fact, Jay discovered one of my water heaters was sitting on unsupported plywood. Without asking or charging more, he laid out some 2x6 pieces and set up a good foundation. That added about 30 min to the job but he wanted it done right. Keep small business alive and call Jay.

Job required going thru brick. Jay came out fixed the problem quickly and within the estimate. I've used other plumbers over the years but now that I've found Plumbing by Jay, he gets all my business.

Jay and his team did an excellent job on the install and setup. He is a true craftsman and student if plumbing. Does it right the first time. Wouldn't have anyone else in my house if I had a plumbing issue.

I called Jay in the morning and he was able to get out to do my repair the same day. He was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. He diagnosed my hot water heater problem and had it repaired promptly. Jay had to replace a thermostat and both elements and gave me a very good price on the work. I would definitely use his company again and I highly recommend Plumbing by Jay to others.

Jay is the most professional, honest, courteous, and thorough plumber I know. And I know a lot of plumbers. He always provides a knowledgeable, fair, and accurate estimate for the work to be performed. He doesn't try to oversell you. He does the job that needs to be done and does it the right way and to code. He doesn't over-engineer the solution and overcharge, and he doesn't underbid the job and take shortcuts. He uses quality parts and does quality work. As a result, there is real value for your money. I won't let any other plumber work in my house.

I gathered many estimates before finding Jay and was very pleased with the result. Estimates varied wildly and I wanted to be sure the job would be done correctly for the best price. I discovered that some of the lowest estimates were for plumbing only and the trenching work I would have to find a separate service. I also learned that some of the lowest bids were a daily price. Jay provided all the services required and the estimate was accurate. He was friendly, efficient and skilled. The job was finished in just over two days.

We were getting ready to go on vacation and smelled gas. Called Jay left a message and within the hour had called us back to set the appointment for that same day. He was delayed on a pervious job for 30 minutes but called in advance which I really appreciated. He located the leak and fixed it.
Also while he was there, we had a toliet another company fixed several times but always had issues. He found the source of the problem; replaced the shut off valve, supply line and all the guts of the toliet. Since then we haven't had any problems with it.

It went just fine. As they were digging, they hit a water line. They had it fixed in no time at all. No problems at all, and I didn't lose very much water at all. They did exactly what they told me what they would do. The price was very reasonable as well.

See the discussion above. Prices were fair and Jay is professional, a real expert and trouble-shooter, and seems to really enjoy what he's doing. As one reviewer stated, he uses technology to his advantage and invests in technology/tools for his business. I highly recommend Jay. He does quality work at a fair price, and you won't regret using him.

Our hot water heater went bad and we wanted to goto a tankless installation to save money in the longterm. We had two existing water heaters that were gas powered. It would take a long time for the hot water heaters to heat up, then when one broke, we knew we wanted a new solution. Plumbing by Jay came out and made some recommendations and gave us an idea on ho long the installation would take. He worked with the City of Allen to make sure his work was above and beyond what the city inspectors were looking for. This meant he spent more time than he probably had originally estimated, but it passed inspection and he spent time showing us everything he did, explaining his work, and teching us how to operate the new system. He even showed us all the forms we needed to complete to get a federal tax incentive. As far a Plumbers go, Jay is top notch. He takes care in his work, leverages technology to his advantage, and really goes out of the way to make sure you are satisfied.

He did some plumbing work for us several times and did not charge us for it. My husband tried to do the work himself, but the water heater‘s parts broke one after the other. We just back from Paris and we were cold and tired and he came out right away and fixed it. He also let me watch and ask questions. He has an office in his van and will go and get something printed off and get it right away and even emailed me when I needed for something bigger. If I had to call a plumber, he is the one I will call.
