While we may not be a name you recognize from a few years ago, we come with experience in industry, 24 years between the two owners to be exact. We are an incorporated business in the State of Texas and have $1 million in liability insurance with an A-rated carrier. We emphasize quality, workmanship, and include a 10 year warranty on most structures. Our crews are not simply builders either, they are craftsmen proud of their talent and wanting to put it on display for you in your yard. We don't simply build, we create! Great experience with North Dallas Fence and Arbor....from tearing out old fence to installation of new board on board privacy fence. George was quick to respond to any questions and workers did a quality job.

The service was great. George initially met me to quote the price for the job to replace our fence. He provided great input and advice during the initial consultation. After we met, a few changes to the request were made, and North Dallas Fence was very accommodating as the scope of the job changed.
After agreeing to hire North Dallas Fence, they were quick to fit us into their schedule and started removing the fence within a few days of hiring. They took three days to remove the fence, replace the retaining wall and fence. It was a very quick turn around considering the work being done. And the new fence is more secure and great looking. I definitely would recommend North Dallas Fence. They were fantastic to work with.

I’ll start by saying that the fence crew did a fantastic job. It looks great. However, it was our experience that the process leading up to and after was unusually disorganized and unprofessional. Read the vendor’s responses to their reviewers, and you can be the judge on the level of communication and professionalism you’re going to get from North Dallas Fence. I also would like to respond to the extremely insulting misrepresentation of facts that the vendor posted accusing us of dodging payment. Fact 1: He did not arrive at the stated time, and my neighbor and I immediately discussed going with another vendor due to this. He made various excuses why he was late, and all we said was that we would’ve liked a heads up phone call instead of waiting with no end in sight. Fact 2: My neighbor and I both agreed to get another quote due to the fact that he was not very responsive to our phone calls and he was very late at the initial meeting. His excuse this time was that we shouldn’t leave him messages because he didn’t know how to access his voicemail. Yep, we also scratched our heads. He then instructed us to text him with questions from that point forward. Professional? You be the judge. Fact 3: I agree that I did seek HOA approval. He has a problem with that? Contrary to what he conjured up, my neighbor and I both agreed to do so. In fact, they submitted their approval request a week before we did. Fact 4: Their crew did start the job promptly. However, neither my neighbor nor I paid the 50% down because he never stopped by, called, texted, invoiced, nor emailed us to request the 50% down. In fact, my wife even asked the crew about paying them, and they said that he would have to collect. Moreover, when I asked his secretary, she texted me later that it’s his practice to stop when the crew starts to collect the 50%, but he never did. We would have written them a check on the spot. To insinuate on a public website that we were not trustworthy is another way of North Dallas Fence casting blame and insulting their customers. Professional? You be the judge. Fact 5: Regarding the fix on the irrigation pipe, he did not communicate this to me until mid-January (2 months after the job was completed). If I’d have seen him, I would have thanked him for sure, however I did not hear from him personally via call, text, email, nor in person from Nov 14 until mid-January when he called me to clarify the inconsistencies in the invoice. Fact 6: See Fact 5. Also, I didn’t realize that the gate ornament outside of the work order scope for me to thank him. Thank you for the free gate ornament. Fact 7: Their crew completed it on time and it looks great. He claims that it was free of mistakes, but how? He never called, texted, or stopped by to ask for my feedback on the fence. The first time he heard my feedback was on Angie’s List. There actually were a few minor mistakes that I fixed myself with a hammer, no big deal. Fact 8: After I looked at the stain on a few previous jobs they did, he offered to bring color samples, which is what I was waiting on (it’s all in the texts). To this day, I’ve never seen those samples. Also, my neighbor changed colors last minute, which I was completely fine with (it’s all recorded in the texts). Again, very confused how he conjured this up. Fact 9: My neighbor and I had not received an invoice or communication for payment for weeks after the job was done (not via phone, text, email, or stopping by). We openly talked about it together. His secretary finally sent me the first invoice on Jan 7 AFTER I texted a reminder to her to send me the invoice (it’s all recorded in the texts). She emailed it to me promptly, however since she didn’t respond to my text, I neglected to check my personal email account which I check maybe twice a month unless I know someone is sending me something. That’s my fault. After that period, we were just going back and forth on some invoice/work order discrepancies which were delays on both of our parts. However, to insinuate we were dodging payment for services on a public website is a huge insult and is inexcusable. Fact 10: Again, how was it that my neighbor and me were to pay them the 50% down when they did not stop by or invoice us to collect? How is this the customer’s fault again, when the first invoice received was almost 2 months after the job was completed? I find it disgraceful that North Dallas Fence takes any negative feedback and dissects it down to point by point blame, ridicule, and insult toward its customers. Fact 11: How are they unprofessional, they ask? I’ll let their own words and behavior speak for itself. They falsely accused us of evading payment while also making gross misrepresentations of fact, and that is completely inexcusable.

"The completion of build was November, 12, 2015 on which the construction payment was due in full. Staining always follows by a month or more, and in this case, it may have been two months later, so January to stain as you stated on this review. Facts: 1 - I arrived on time, in the time bracket scheduled, with your neighbor who had already been working with us to look at your fence, you left because you interpreted it to be on the hour exactly and didn't have time for me. Understandable. Again, he had already chosen us to work with and was waiting on you. 2 - You decided to get other quotes after this and held up the process and put your neighbor in a tough predicament of being handcuffed. 3 - You decided to get your HOA approval and jeopardized your neighbor moving forward because he wanted a different, prettier trim level, which he took anyway. Again, delays. 4 - We started the job promptly. You did not provide the 50% down payment on the start of the job, but we worked anyway because we are a trusting group of people who believe people will do the right thing. Mistake. 5 - We hit an irrigation pipe and fixed it free of charge despite declared exemption from doing so free of charge on the contract, front and back. 6 - I made a special trip to bring decorative metal options for a free gate ornament which your wife was very gracious. You didn't even say thank you. 7 - Once started, we completed the build on time free of mistakes. 8 - Your neighbor chose a stain color and you had said you'd go with the same neutral color. You did not like it and took weeks to choose a color. Again, delays. 9 - Once we finished everything, we wanted money. Your neighbor had paid us in full at this point, twice the amount you had to pay. You avoided us and would not pay despite emails and texts. You continually told us how terrible we were and repeatedly told me how we did not know how to run a business. Very unprofessional for someone who dodged paying us for weeks. Unfortunately, this is typical of people who give us difficulties in getting paid. 10 - We received your first 50% payment and deposited it promptly on January 27, 2016, 2 1/2 months after we started construction on which day you should have paid this 50%. 11 - We received final payment after an adjustment on a mistake on the estimate for everything we did and deposited it promptly on February 2, 2016, nearly 3 full months after the day we started! With this all being said, how are we unprofessional, not on time and so horrible like you make it sound? Facts are facts, you held us up and made things difficult. 4 of 5 people who use us on Angie's List don't even write a review, and all of those are happy. We have people to pay, suppliers to pay and are trying to make a living, we are not a bank to finance people who do not want to pay on time. I do appreciate you liking the construction, we really do great work and are proud of it. We have built for multiple customers 2 and 3 times over the years, so we must be doing something right? We agree to disagree, and so goes life."

"Thanks for your comments. You were a very satisfied past customer and reached out to us for this 28' piece of new fence expansion and staining. Your grades for us demonstrate that small jobs are the most difficult to get addressed. Coordinating them when in the area to keep labor down is hard to do and we know it took time. However, quality is not compromised and I'm surprised by the "B" grade. Once we got the job built and the required time passed to stain, we were timely. My stain guy made a great call in saying your old fence needed bleaching. I went by after he was done and it looked great, $240 for bleach well spent. To be honest, having been such a good guy and good customer in the past was why we did this. It takes more effort to coordinate a small job than it does a big job, or the same amount at the very least. We wouldn't have taken this job had you not been a good past customer as I knew this would take some real coordination. I do hope you understand. But thanks again for being a loyal customer and we appreciate the comments."

North Dallas Fence and Arbor did a wonderful job on our new fence!
After I emailed the office and set an estimate appointment, George promptly came out to meet me and look at our old fence. Then he explained about the differences between quality fence construction (and quality materials) versus what some other fence contractors were doing. I appreciated this information because I am not a fence or wood expert. He explained the differences between a high-quality fence that is built to last and one that may "look nice" for a few months but wont stand the test of time. He showed me pictures of his work, told me exactly what type of wood and materials they would use, and then he gave me his estimate on the spot. He also gave me some options to keep the costs down on our new fence (we reused the existing steel posts).
He didn't require any money up front and was NEVER pushy or trying to make a sale. His bid wasn't the lowest or the highest I received, but it was certainly fair.....and I strongly believe that you get what you pay for. We aren't looking for the cheapest, we wanted a high quality fence by a local company that takes pride in their work. North Dallas Fence and Arbor were the ones we chose.
After we agreed on the estimate, our fence was built the following week and it was complete in one day! George's crew was very professional and courteous. They cleaned everything up and even hauled away some old wood in our backyard that we no longer wanted. They will be back in a few weeks to stain our fence once the wood has some time to age and will readily accept the stain. Thank you!
We will hopefully be using this company again to build an arbor in the future...and we strongly recommend them to others!

Everything went to plan. Scheduled promptly. Completed in approximately 3 days. Returned a few weeks later to stain as planned and replace a few damaged pickets. George was easy to work with, addressed my concerns, answered my questions, and made the process pain free. Would definitely recommend for fencing!

The job went very smoothly. George showed up at the scheduled time for the estimate. He was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. While his bid was not the lowest, I felt the most comfortable with his expertise and knowledge. His crew showed up on the scheduled day and they did a phenomenal job of taking the old fence out and installing the new one. George stopped by on multiple occasions to check on the work and even called me to make sure I was happy. The job was finished in a timely manner and it looks great. His crew did a phenomenal job throughout, leaving my yard looking pristine. I cannot recommend George and his company, North Dallas Fence & Arbor enough.

I obtained a quote from George almost 9 months ago. I decided to wait till this spring to begin the work. He revised the quote w/ minimal inflation. I also obtained quotes from 4 other A rated Angie's list fence companies. One of them never been called me back. The pricing was very competitive. George was professional and extremely knowledgeable and delivered above and beyond my expectations. His crew came on time and finished the job in 1.5 days. I'm surrounded on all three sides by neighbors and two of them have already said our fence is the best in the entire sub-division. One of them sits on the board for our HOA and will be referring George as the go to person for fences. I've attached pictures of our fence below. Wonderful experience. Even the owner, George, came out to the job site. I drove around the neighborhood and looked for the best looking fences. I noticed North Dallas Fence on many of my favorites and called them. They came right out to quote. The pricing was very fair. I called my next door neighbor and talked to them about going in together with our shared wall. They ended up installing their own new privacy fence with North Dallas as well! We ordered fencing for both yards at the same time and worked a discount on the deal. Once the wood had cured and the temperature was warm enough, they came back and triple stained the wood. We had many stain colors to choose from. (not single or double like most companies) I would, and have, highly recommend this company to others. You won't be disappointed.

We began getting estimates from four different top rated Angie's List referred companies in December 2013 and chose North Dallas Fence and Arbor based on a combination of their quality, experience, and price. All four companies we contacted were great and it was a tough call. I submitted plans to our HOA and George, the owner at North Dallas Fence and Arbor, got necessary city permits. George also arranged for survey and marking of all the underground utilities. The crew showed up in January as scheduled and tore down and hauled off our old rotten fence. They hand dug fence holes, avoiding all utilities, sprinkler lines, etc. and place new heavy galvanized steel posts. Within a few days, they had our new fence up, gates installed, dirt spread, debris removed, and basically everything but staining done. Staining was planned six weeks out but, due to weather, fence staining was pushed out to March. The fence staining crew covered our pool, patio furniture, brick, walkways and everything else that might get overspray. We recommend North Dallas Fence and Arbor and we would gladly use them again.

My first appointment with George was rescheduled a few times (due to icy conditions and a scheduling oops), but they called well before the appointment and were genuinely apologetic. Weather was not really our friend in the beginning of the process. George beat me to our house every time we met -- very punctual. He was patient and informative and walked me through all of the options. After meeting for the initial quote, my husband and I decided to change one of the lengths on the back side of the yard to a 4 ft fence to preserve the view of the creek behind our house. George was very receptive and accommodating. He came out to the house a second time to iron out details with us and the company that installed the electric sliding gate. His crew installed the fence in the time frame that he predicted, and it looks GREAT. He coordinated the whole process with the 3rd party that installed the electric gate, and it all went really smoothly. Per George's suggestion, the 4 ft picket fence was installed with a straight line along the top (rather than following the crazy slopes of our backyard), and it looks fantastic. We could not have imagined it any better. The gates all open well, and the materials they used are good quality. They reinforce the walk-through gates with an "X" pattern to prevent warping over time. We're just waiting to get the stain now. We LOVE our new fence!

We called North Dallas Fence and spoke with George Dorrell, he was very friendly and professional. George was very prompt with his detailed proposal. We shopped a few other fence companies and found North Dallas Fence to be very competitive. We decided to go ahead with George and he scheduled his crew to come out by 9:30 on Wed morning. His guys were here a few minutes before 9:30, made very little noise, and were completely finished within 6 hours. Along the way, George made a couple of suggestions which turned out much better than we had planned for design and functionality at no additional cost. George's friendly and professional crew finished the job quickly and left the jobsite in very nice condition.
We have already recommended North Dallas Fence to a few of our neighbors and friends. We would definitely use them again in the future if we have a need.

When we contacted North Dallas Fence we spoke with George Dorfell. After getting a rough estimate, he came out to give us a complete quote. We approved and scheduled the time to come out...we were lucky, he was able to fit us in within a week. The day of the installation, we went to work with an old, delipated fance, came home to a beautiful, new fence. (even the neighbor commented on how great of a job and how hard working the guys were that were putting it up). They were able to complete everything except some of the trim (the power shut off - fuse tripped on our outdoor outlet) so they came back out the next day and had it completed within just a couple of hours. After watching about 5 other neighbors getting new fences put up by various other companies, I can honestly say that I really believe we have received a beter looking and better quality fence. Not only do we feel that that way but our friends and family have also commented on it as well. We are extremely happy with what we have received and would definitely use them again on other projects.

We got a new puppy and were in much need of a new fence, as our old one was falling apart. We got several quotes and George was passionate and knowledgeable about their work and he was honest about how they build fences.
The materials they used are excellent. They used Western Red Cedar in Number 1 or select grade pickets with 6' centers (spacing) between the .095 gauge poles on our 7' fence. They also used double posts with X frame gates. These gates have three hinges each with a total of 18 carriage bolts per gate. These are smoothest gates ever. They only used ring shank nails on all of the fence so they will hold better than others. Finally, they used Baker's Gray Away stain. This is a high quality stain and I am looking forward to its longevity!

One day to remove the old fence AND set the poles and one day to put up the rails, pickets, cut out the gates, and do the double trim. They even went above and beyond and cut out a window for me next to where my security flood lights were so that the one flood light could still illuminate the backyard! Later, they came back to inspect the work and replace any pickets that needed replacing and small corrections. Only two pickets needed replaced!
