Ikea is good, the quality of some materials is lacking and others superior. For example, the same salad spinner from Bed Bath and Beyond costs over $20. From Ikea the same salad spinner was $4.00. Excellent quality.
The bed I purchased is excellent. Actually a sofa/bed. Matress is firm and construction of the frame is excellent. No complaints. For the price I will continue shopping there.

My experience was very good. They got it all done in one day. Everything was beautiful and there were no hitches. Their price was good and I would call them again.

I began planning my kitchen in August by visiting Ikea's Dallas location and taking photos. When discussing planning and installation of cabinets, I was referred to and met with a designer for the company that does Ikea's kitchen sales floor installations, as well as customers' home kitchen installations. After my second design was submitted and CAD plans created, I returned to Ikea November 13 and ordered cabinets and appliances, working with both Matthew and Barbara on different occasions. Both were very knowledgeable and professional. They also remembered me each time I returned and were always helpful. Delivery was scheduled for the following Tuesday, between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., the only time they deliver to Fort Worth.
The delivery truck actually arrived around 10:30 p.m. with two very nice, very tired, but very organized gentlemen bringing boxes and boxes into the house. They will deliver to one room, or get the product as close to that room as possible if it won't go through the door, which meant my refrigerator and gas range had to sit in the driveway until the cabinets had been installed, because the crates wouldn't go through the kitchen door. The delivery personnel do not uncrate or unpack anything.
When the installers came, there was one cabinet that was too wide for the space it was to go in and a couple of items that had arrived broken or were missing, so I returned to Ikea to exchange/purchase them. I expected to have to wait, but was pleasantly surprised when I was simply given a "credit card" to cover what I had returned/exchanged and sent to the Kitchen Department to order the additional pieces that were missing and told that my exchanged items would be waiting for me when I returned. I went to the K.D., ordered the missing pieces and replacement cabinet for the one that was too big, paying for it with my Ikea "credit card." Then I purchased LED lighting to go under the cabinets and went back downstairs, and my "stuff" was ready and waiting on a flatbed. I was given assistance loading everything and was on my way.
When the cabinets were installed, complete with drawer and door dampeners, I was REALLY pleased with the way the cabinets looked and how smoothly they functioned. The only piece that wasn't installed at that time was the door for the integrated dishwasher, which, of course couldn't be installed until the countertops were in. The appliances are all made by a major U.S. brand and cost less than that brand does elsewhere. However, there is not a wide variety of appliances and only the slide-in gas stove has a gas oven. All of the wall ovens are electric and most have convection. To get a complete kitchen of cabinets with slide-in stove, French door, bottom freezer fridge and integrated dishwasher for $5700 (20% promotional discount) is great!
In spite of the incovenience of driving to Frisco several times, I highly recommend Ikea cabinets. We will have to rent a cargo van to return a couple of over-sized pieces that were not needed. If I were to do it again, I would probably avoid paying a separate company $119/"box" and just have my general contractor install the cabinets to avoid having to coordinate with another contractor, although the cabinet installer had a great idea for installing electrical outlets and lighting on the underside of the cabinets and did a good job. Ikea cabinets are different from American-made cabinets and are fitted a bit differently, which is why they recommend using this particular company, but two or three (pretty strong) people who will follow instructions can probably do a very good job...and Ikea is very good about walking one through questions/problems on the phone.
