I was a first time home buyer and these guys literally ripped me off my money and happiness of being a home owner. If anyone out there cares for your floors or for that matter your hard earned money and investment on a home please do not go to contractors like Frisco Wood Floors (Randy Anzualda). My experience goes as below:A part of my formal living area was already on a hardwood floor (Red Oak Common 1) and I wanted to replace the carpet area of my family living area with hard wood to blend in with my formal living area. These guys came in saying they can beat any contractor's price. They looked at my existing hardwood floor and told me that it is Red Oak Common 2 and hence they will lay the same wood in my living area. They convinced me that the quality of wood would be the same as my formal living area's. Then we noticed a lot of holes (not the natural wood knots) in the wood after they laid it. When asked about these holes Mr. Randy kept saying that it will not look the same after the whole floor is stained and polished. He kept saying the same thing at each phase of completion only to find out at the end that there is nothing he could do about those holes.
After we asked him firmly what he is gonna do about these holes Randy Anzualda then said the formal living might have used Red Oak Common 1 which is a high quality wood than Red Oak Common 2 which has holes in it. He never mentioned this to us before signing the contract. He tried desperately to show us holes in our existing floor in the formal living but could not find a single one. So you can imagine how they can take undue advantage of you ignorance of wood quality levels. Then comes the polyurethane finishing on the floor. I could not even compare the finishing on my eight year old formal living area with the polyurethane finishing on the one week old living area done by these guys. They don't even care to dust off the floor before applying the poly. They apply polyurethane on the left over wood particles and then they are stuck to your floor for the rest of its life. And then they leave a visible bump in the middle of my my floor for the power plug point. When asked why that bump was not levelled they said thats how the floor is and they cannot flush the power plug board into the floor. Add to that the way they put back the baseboards and shoe moulding. It is at our own risk if we walk any closer to the edges of the shoe moulding on the baseboards. Those edges can rip off your skin and put you in danger especially when kids are running around. Overall this was a nightmarish experience with Frisco Wood floors for our family and we lost the complete happiness of owning a home. Somethings are learnt the hard way. I do not want any family who are homeowners or would be homeowners to be the victim of these contractors. They don't deserve to be on Angie's List.
I would be attaching pictures of the work done by Randy Anzualda and his company Frisco Wood Floors at the end of this review.
