Garbage Collection
In May Allied Waste (aka Republic) quoted me $29.00 a
quarter and billed me accordingly. Last week I got a bill for $72.88 a quarter which included
about $20 in surcharges plus a $5 late fee. I phoned and was told that
this was what I always paid and that they would drop the late fee.. So I
went online and looked at my old bills which had no "surcharges" and
was nowhere near what this one is. This morning, as I prepared to phone
them again, I tried to find my billing history online and it is gone. So
I arranged for pick-up by a different company and cancelled my Allied
Service. They told me I would receive a final bill and I told them I
would contact the Attorney General in Austin about Bait and Switch if
they did. I waster almost 2 hours today dealing with trash matters.P
