"I have been going back and forth whether or not to respond to this ridiculous review since I received notification that it was made, but I have to address the numerous lies and made up statements in this review. 1. The binder that this person refers to was NEVER promised to change during the building process. We provided this binder to owner as a supplement to the contract documents simply to show examples from previous builds and with stock photos to show the level of what to expect when selecting finishes, fixtures, etc. We never stated that we would "update" this binder. We have provided this exact binder on over 30 other builds and told all clients same thing. The clients statement is a complete lie. 2. Meeting with suppliers: Prior to EVERY meeting, I electronically sent the plans for the meeting to the supplier and personally contacted them to discuss what owners were expecting and what the budget allowed. I had our Deisgner attend to discuss and take notes (with the yellow pad and a small version of the floor plan) to every meeting. These clients made it very clear early on in the process that they did not want input from our in house designer so she was there to take notes and answer questions, if client had any. The suppliers were NEVER "shocked" by the way this was done because most of the suppliers they met with have been our suppliers for over 10 years and know our process. 3. Customer Service - We always attended every meeting that was scheduled and if owners informed me they were coming into town, I always met them (unless on a Saturday that we discussed prior to signing contract). I had 2 teenage children at the time and that came first on weekends. I NEVER called clients stupid and always listed to their ideas, even as far fetched as some were. Again another lie and an insult to me, personally. 4. Issues - Our electricians, trim carpenters and painters went out the house several times during the first few months after they moved in to take care of some minor issues (nail head popping, lights flickering, fans unbalanced, caulk separating, door sticking, etc.) and every time I would ask the owner if the situation was handled and it was always positive. We never charged him anything additional. If the owner paid someone else to handle something else, that is his choice. Finally - This house was built during the height of COVID and these clients became very disgruntled because of delays that were completely out of my control. The entire world shut down for several months, yet they were upset nothing was happening at their house. Some of the items that they ordered (tile, appliances, lighting, etc) were specially items and had extended delays, even after the COVID pandemic calmed down because of supply and production issues. I offered alternatives multiple times but they refused so we had to wait (sometimes 6 months) for this item, so the house could not be completed. I do not know what else to say about this other than the clients definitely made this one a difficult build and lied throughout the process and continue to lie about the experience, but there is nothing that I can do about that. We have moved on and are building for very lovely clients now and continue to build great homes. I will not be responding further."
