Urban Oasis Outdoor Living & Landscaping

We hired Urban Oasis a few years ago to build an open pavilion and outdoor kitchen with a fireplace in our backyard. Carl was easy to work with, and ensured we were 100% happy with the results. It was an easy decision to hire him again when we were ready to enclose the kitchen. He recommended aluminum shutters, and we could not be happier with not only the way they turned out, but the service from Urban Oasis as a whole. Once again, Carl and his team were prompt, responsive, and did not leave the site until confirming we were 100% happy with the work. The project was completed in the exact time frame that we were quoted. The attention to detail in the build also exceeded our expectations. Even though the shutters were added years after our original build, they look as though they were a part of the original design. If you want to feel comfortable in knowing that your job will be done well, and to your 100% satisfaction, hiring Urban Oasis is the way to go.

I could not be happier with their work. The work was finished quickly and the attention to detail was above what was expected. Any questions were answered quickly. The end result was better than I hoped for. I would hire them again in a heartbeat for something around the house.

It was a long process, mainly due to weather and The job site was not cleaned up timely after the concrete guys came. However, the quality is wonderful and the project manager is a pleasure to work with. Any bumps we did hit, were addressed by him. We love our new patio and pergola. They did fantastic work and we would definitely use them again.

He visited my home for the initial consultation. And never cared to respond with a quote for two weeks (and counting). And there has been no information whosoever from this company how much longer they need to create a quote for me. Disappointing it is. I contacted their office this morning and the answer I got was that getting the quote after 2 weeks of the initial consultation is 'industry standard'. And I strongly disagree with that. I have been dealing with other service providers also and none of them took this long to respond at least.

Great experience with UrbanOasis.   They were extremely responsive and professional from start to finish.  They produced a great design based on our overall idea and were happy to work with us in adjusting the details.  They handled all the HOA and city inspection paperwork and kept us updated on each step during the build.  Especially given that I live out of town, I really appreciated how well they worked with my mother and her schedule throughout the process -- really fantastic.  Their customer service and the outcome exceeded our expectations -- it is clear that they take a lot of pride in their work.  We have already recommended them to neighbors and are now having them do landscaping for us.  We looked at a couple other providers before selecting UrbanOasis, and we're very glad we selected them for the work.  Highest recommendation!

It took me 8 days after the consultation to find the survey, scan in the document and email it to Alec.  I never got confirmation it was received.  2 weeks after I emailed it, I called Alec just to ensure he received it.  Alec confirmed the receipt and told me he was trying to get it completed that week.  Another 10 days went by with no update, phone call, email, so I called Alec again for an update.  I was told once again that he was going to try and get it out to me soon.  Finally - 24 days after emailing in the required survey, I still didn't have an update, phone call nor an email.   I called Urban Oasis once more.  I asked whether they were so busy that they couldn't get estimates out to the clients or whether it was their way of saying that they weren't interested in my work. 
I was assured that neither was the case and that they would check on the status of the design/estimate.  And poof!  Later that day, I had my documents.  Unfortunately, the design did not include any raised flower beds in the backyard, and it contained shrubs I said that I didn't want!  There was no mention of removing the shrubs from the front, and there was an estimate of $3000 to add dirt, put in the flower bed border topped off with ROCKS the length of the house (approx. 80 ft.).  There was no "Phase 2" for the drive-way flower bed/widening situation either. 
I was very hopeful that Alec Cartwright of Urban Oasis Outdoor Living and Landscaping would finally give us the backyard we've been unable to create for ourselves.  At the time of the initial consultation, he seemed to listen well and take measurements.  He just didn't seem to have good notes about the consultation when he created the design and estimate so many weeks later.  And it took a lot of effort on our part to even get the documents from Urban Oasis.   Needless to say, we declined the offer since it didn't even resemble anything we asked for and it seemed very expensive for the work that needs to be done.

Urban Oasis Outdoor Living and Landscaping provided excellent service from the beginning. As we designed the vision of the project that I was looking for, several designs were created to determine the exact details of what I was requesting. The owner, Carl was very helpful with explaining the scope of work and it every turn, we partnered together to get the best price for materials and labor. Once the project was started, Carl was onsite to manage the project at every step of the way. As the construction took place, when there were slight adjustments needed, Carl took care of the modifications right away. The end result has added value to my home and the patio space is an excellent addition for entertaining friends and family. Urban Oasis Outdoor Living and Landscaping is a company that I would recommend to anyone interested in enhancing their home!

My experience with them has been really poor so far. They are not doing work for us. They came out and gave us a free consult more than a month ago. So far, I have called about six or seven times and I cannot get any response back from them just to even give me some kind of a result to my free consult to say what they can do and what pricing would look like. When I called, they were good. They came out. They kept to their appointment. So, all of that stuff was positive. When the gentleman came out, Carl was his name, he was friendly and professional. He seemed to ask the right questions. My issue has been exclusively around the follow-up. As a result of lack of follow-up or lack of communication post to consult, they are not somebody that I would want to use or would recommend to anyone else. I can understand that business gets busy. It is a good thing when a business gets busy because that means that they are working, and they got a lot of activity, but my expectation as a potential customer is at least some responsiveness, some communication. You can tell me that you are busy, but you would have to tell me when you can follow-up with me, and I am okay with that, but it has been kind of full lack of responsiveness. Their responsiveness upfront was fine. The succeeding period was horrible. He did a good job of coming for the initial consult but did not keep to the time frames that he committed to provide me the result of the consult. I equate professionalism to responsiveness, proactive communication, and keeping to your commitment.
