Abby Slayton opened "There's No Place Like Home...Furnishings" after buying a home and discovering the furniture she wanted was outrageously priced. Finding out that most furniture stores charge from 300%-700% over the wholesale price, she decided to open her own store and keep the mark-up down by keeping the overhead low.

"In 22 years I have never experienced a client like this. I called her to send another technician out and needed to know if Thursday or Friday worked best for her. She refused to tell me. I said it needed to be scheduled with the repair person and still, she would not tell me. I apologized to her and told her We could try and make another repair or we could replace the item but needed the technician to make fill out a replacement form and take specific pictures to send to the mfg. She called me a BIT(H and said just forget it...she would rather start writing bad reviews. Most of the reviewers words are untrue, and I feel nothing will make her happy. Yes, the drawer glide was bent, so we ordered and replaced it. Yes, A screw caused the inside bottom of the drawer to split, so we were either going to repair or replace the cabinet. She would not give us the opportunity to do this. After the name calling I told her I would call her later after she calmed down! She was extremely threatening towards me. She is a scary person."
"Thank you for taking the time to review our business. We strive to provide a large selection of brands and styles to meet our customer's needs. I wish we could have saved you more off the MSRP on the items you purchased...in some cases we are 40%-60% off those prices and other times we are about the same as you would find on internet sites that do not have a brick and mortar retail space. It really depends on the manufacturer you are ordering from. Please let us know if there is anything we can help you find for your home from floor to ceiling! Again, I truly appreciate you taking the time to write about There's No Place Like Home Furniture."
"Hello [member name removed] I am happy you took time to review There's No Place Like Home. Because we keep 1 sample item from each of our 700+ Mfg's, we usually do not have the specific items most customers are wanting in our showroom. I wish we could , but then my prices would be as much as the usual retail prices. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to make your shopping experience better. I truly appreciate your business and want you to be happy with your purchases! Thank you again."

Please keep us in mind for your next home décor purchase. We are now open until 9 PM on Saturdays...please stop in and enjoy a glass of wine and see the new mfg. samples that have arrived!"
