"All customers that use The Maids for the first time are charged the same hourly rate of $147 + tax for a first time clean for ateam of four people. This customer was informed of this by two separate people at The Maids prior to scheduling service. She was initially informed by Mart Ratliff of the estimated time and costs ($147/hr +tax, for 1.5 to 2.5 hours) and subsequently called back to schedule a clean and spoke with Alicia at that time. Alicia verified with her the estimate and again informed her of the hourly rate and estimated time, at which time the customer scheduled a clean for The Maids to come out and service her home. On the day of the clean, staff was short handed, so only 3 maids went out and the hourly rate was reduced from $147/hr to $110.25/hr. The team completed the clean in 2 hours and 30 minutes and the customer was charged $275.63 + tax for a grand total of $298.37. Once the fifty dollar off coupon was applied, the total was reduced to $248.37. The customer called and stated that she believed that the price was going to be lower and she felt that she should not have to pay as much as was charged. After reviewing the case, Mart Ratliff made the determination that no refund was due and that the customer had been charged properly. Since there were only 3 maids on this particular day, the time spent in the home was longer, but when the reduced hourly rate is taken into consideration, the charge was well within the estimated charge. When speaking with the customer, the customer was upset and stated that she felt that she had not received value for her money. At that time, Mart advised her of the terms of the 100% satisfaction guarantee which states that we would return to correct any issues missed at no charge to the customer. The customer advised at that time that there was nothing for them to come back out and correct, so no one was returned to the home. While it is understandable that this customer was upset by seeing another customer being charged less for a larger home, that misunderstanding is due to the fact that the previous poster is a regular customer and was posting the price for her regular service. If this customer had chosen to sign up for regular service, her pricing for the cleans after the first time would have been approximately half of the posted price on which she based her expectations."
