My bathroom countertop is marble, which is very prone to etching. I made a big deal about this when Jack Reynolds, the franchisee, came to my house during the quote process. I told him I have specific products that should be used in my bathroom and that I would provide them and train the maids. He said that would be fine, though they prefer to use their own products. We have very hard water, so their cleaner would not get the spots off our shower glass. So I gave them CLR to use INSIDE THE SHOWER ONLY. But instead they cleaned the shower door and set the can down on the countertop, thus etching it and causing damage due to the chemicals dripping off the spray can. I walked in when the maid was doing this and explained that was incorrect, but seeing has she didn't speak English she probably didn't understand. I was promised at least one English speaker with each team of two, but that was not always the case.
In addition, they pushed the shower door INTO the shower, when it was made to open to the OUTSIDE, which caused the shower door glass to splinter off, the plastic between the tile and glass to get messed up and broken, and lastly to cause a chunk of marble tile to break off where the door went into it. The glass and tile were all cleaned up and the damage was never mentioned to me, as I'm sure they'd hope we wouldn't notice.
I took photos of the damage and texted them to Jack Reynolds. The maid called her English-speaking supervisor to come over, and she also took pictures and sent them to Jack. Though she spoke to the mail in Spanish in front of me and I have no idea what they were talking about. The supervisor got very agitated and said I had NEVER trained them on my bathroom cleaning requirements. I very nicely told her she was wrong, that I told them EACH TIME how to clean it and laid out the products where they should be used. So the first sign of trouble....
I waited a week or so and followed up with the franchisee, Jack Reynolds, who then gave me a call. I have to stop right now and tell you I've been in Customer Service at work for almost 40 yrs and have dealt with a plethora of irate customers and rude folks. This guy takes the cake as being one of the rudest people I've ever spoken to. He out and out called me a liar and said I was "a piece of work", and was just trying to get money out of them. I have had only 2 housekeepers in 14 yrs before hiring The Cleaning Authority, so I'm not exactly hard to please. I just don't want damage done to materials I've spent a lot of money on, have someone scream at me on the phone, interrupting me at all times, then hanging up on me. And don't think you'll get any help from anyone at Corporate HQ. There's no phone number listed, and when I finally found someone to talk to they promised the CEO's assistant would contact me. Of course that has not happened. If you do ANYTHINH online it goes directly to the franchisee, so you basically have absolutely no recourse other than small claims court if you choose to do so.
By all means steer clear of this company. They will promise you the moon and then verbally abuse you if you complain about anything. Please see other reviews on Yelp and Google - I blame myself for not looking at them before hiring them. Jack Reynolds may have an anger management issue as he has verbally abused others as well from what I've read .
