The first guy to come out told me my condenser was out recommended replacing unit with new R410a. I agreed but didn't feel very comfortable with this guy so I decided to get another opinion. Reluctantly signed up on angieslist, found nothing but large hvac companies at top of list...i have a phobia about working with large companies (too many bad experiences i guess). however, after a long search i found sykora's, only had one review, good review, and mentioned a christian affiliation. I called and talked to Jim (owner), he sounded down to earth, not pushy, not trying to sell me. Jim came out and didnt charge me to first confirm that the condenser was out. I felt very comfortable after speaking with him and decided to go with it. That was wednesday. On friday, Jim and David installed a Comfortmaker 16 SEER 3.5 ton outside unit, and the matching inside evaporator coil. Everything went smoothly and I feel very good about the whole process. If you're looking for more of a mom and pop type company to work with, I highly recommend Sykora's. BTW angieslist, not a big fan of the $10 activation fee.

He was VERY honest and trustworthy. I confirmed the price of the repair with another place and the cost was the same. With his recommendation for the repair of our appliances, the parts cost close to what the repair cost was. Plus, he's christian, very honest, knew what he was doing and explained things well.
Description of Work: Jim at Sykora's was the only person listed as being able to appliance repair as well as air conditioning repair. All at once, our A/C was out, dryer not drying, and refrigerater not cooling. Jim first checked appliances and gave $110 for dryer repair, and $275 for fridge repair. But we did not get those repaired since the A/C cost $1,200. The condenser coils were leaking, causing the line to freeze up outside and stop working. The part was huge and took him close to 2 hours to put in, but we were SO relieved to have air again. I checked with the appliance parts place for the parts Jim said we needed to repair the appliances, and it cost just $60 cheaper to fix the fridge ourselves.
