"We, at Southern Painting, have made it a company standard to go above and beyond the call of duty when working with customers and their families, even when we make a mistake. We have been doing this for 27 years and have successfully painted over 75,000 single-family homes. We painted this customer’s exterior in January and were contacted by the customer three weeks ago about an interior estimate we had given him. He was upset when he spoke to our Operations Manager about the price of the interior estimate. He then called on February 11 demanding we pay him $350 stating he was unhappy with our work on the exterior of his home. He said if we did not pay him the $350 he would go on review websites like Angie’s List and post negative things about Southern Painting. At that time, we requested he send us pictures of his concerns. He did so but it was difficult to tell what was wrong with our work from the photos. We spoke with him again on February 12 stating that we, at Southern Painting, wanted to do what was more than fair and honorable and would like to come out and look at his concerns. In his own words he said he felt that it was “not fair” for us to come to see the concerns and, again, demanded we refund him $350 or else and hung up the call abruptly. Please understand, it is not about the $350. Southern Painting always warrants our work and strives to meet the expectations of our customers. We, at Southern Painting, would still like to have the opportunity to visit the home along with our Sherwin-Williams® Representative to look at the customer’s concerns and work with the customer to do what is more than fair and reasonable."

On Monday three men began cleaning the home, pressure washing etc. One man began preparing the front door to be refinished. They were here most of the day.
On Tuesday, the men sanded, caulked, and further prepared for painting. As we have dormers and a steep pitch to our roof, everything seemed inaccessible without ladders. The men worked steady and were diligent at their work. At the end of Tuesday they did some taping and papering the brick/stone to protect from paint splatter. The front door was finished and the difference is quite amazing! Now we need to get a new door handle to go with the beautiful door!
On Wed. the group, led by Omar, painted our trim, chimney, etc. They also stained the shutters and the dormers. Again, they worked all day. At the end of each day, they were prompt to pick-up their equipment and any paper or scraps that might have fallen on the ground. On Thursday, they were here for a few hours to complete the staining.
On Friday Terrence came by and walked our home to see how the paint and stain were completed. He also came by at the start of the project and each day to see how things were going as well as to see if we had any concerns. He was easy to work with in repainting and re-staining our home.
By us having both the front door and back door done, the doors were required to be open. I knew the doors would be open, and it would take a while, but I did not think that through completely in terms of our house dogs, running any errand out of the home etc. It was fine as I was schedule to be home, but it was a little unexpected in the length of time they were open. The cooler weather contributed to a slower drying time as well.
It was nice that Southern Painting does not expect payment until they have completed the work. This way, we did not have to worry about them starting the job and not finishing after they were paid. We would recommend the company and Terrence as a sales/project. Omar and his team did a great job as well!
"Thank you for your description of your painting experience with Southern Painting. We especially appreciated how detailed you were about what we did. That will give another customer the opportunity to know a little more about the way we do business. Thank you again and we hope to have the privilege of working with you again when you have future painting projects."
