It could not have gone worse. The work was poorly performed. They did not complete the job. They did not show up when they said they would. They were completely unprofessional and not willing to work out problems as they arise. They walked off the job incomplete, yet sent a bill for the entire amount. I had to complete the work. The experience with the Slaters was unprofessional and argumentative. Not a good experience at all. And now I have to spend more money to complete the work.

Outstanding - work was done on time and on budget . The crew was great and their work excellent .They were polite , punctual and did a great job cleaning up. Slater Flooring & Design is a great company to do business with and I highly recommend them.

Very good experience from start to finish. Quality work with an experienced crew. Gary worked with my schedule and was very thorough in communicating the timing of the various aspects of the job. The project started and ended on time. Very pleased.

They're excellent. They helped me with the design and picking of colors. They did an excellent job all the way round. Their people were very professional. They did high quality work. I had no complaints at all. They were reliable. They did the work in the time frame that they quoted. They stuck to the estimate they gave me. I would absolutely use them in the future.

Outstanding . Gary gave us an estimate last thursday and started work monday 10 december and finished today 11 december . Gary's crew did a great job installing a hardwood floor in our livingroom and dining area. They left the area clean and finished ahead of schedual.For all the work they did the price was very reasonable. I STRONGLY RECOMEND THEIR SERVICES.

We were very pleased with the work from start to finish. We were given a detailed estimate based on what we asked to have done, the crew showed up when they said they would, the project was done when promised, and the estimate was accurate. We will definitely call Gary for the next project.

Gary's crew was excellent. They arrived on time, were neatly dressed and carefully prepared my home for the work. When they were done two days later, they cleaned up completely and removed all leftover materials. What a great job!

I recommend them. They are meticulous and they do a great job. They are not happy until the customer is happy. It's corny but it's true. They weren't inexpensive but this type of thing isn't cheap.

Gary and the installers arrived on time - every time - and made sure that every aspect of my job went well. He helped us redesign some of our tile layout which saved us some real money. He also worked closely with our general contractor to make sure we met our schedule requirements. The tile installer in particular was really exact, careful and exceptionally clean. The hardwood scraping was a three-day effort, and the crew was very careful throughout the house. This was REALLY a great job, very well done and priced aggressively. Slater Flooring's pricing was more than fair, and Gary's willingness to come back and put quarter round moulding at the baseboards (not originally priced) with very little notice was really appreciated.

Gary came to our house and helped us decide the best course of action and materials in order to achieve the look and style of flooring we wanted. He even met my decorator and me at a showroom to pick out tile and wood. Since we installed floors in the entire house, Gary worked with me to understand how I needed to prepare and make arrangements for my family while the work was being done. We also had to coordinate dates because we were having the house painted directly after the floors were put in. Gary and his team started the project on time and worked hard to finish on time. His team was polite and hard working. We are very pleased with the work from Slater Flooring and would recommend them to others.

We have not been real happy with them. Within a month it started popping up two times, they've been out two times but it hasn't solved the problem.

"Our proposal for wood flooring, dated 11/19/10, described the product that the member had first selected, areas to be installed, what flooring was to be removed and a specific note stating that additional floor preparation may be required at an additional cost. This proposal was rejected. Another wood floor selection was made and another proposal was presented dated 1-28-11. This proposal read the same as the first, with the exception of the new product selected. They accepted this proposal and the product was ordered and scheduled. After removal of the existing flooring, we detected that the slab was very wavy, humps and low places. The only way to properly correct this for wood installation was to level the slab at an additional cost, which was explained to them and accepted by them. This was a slow process because of the drying process. After a few days we started the installation and the floor turned out as level as possible. Everyone seemed to be very happy. She even suggested that she would allow us to bring future customers to view her flooring and we did. She seemed very happy and proud of everything. I received a call later from her stating that she had hollow spots in her wood flooring, which is totally normal for any wood floor installed on a slab, especially with the floating that was necessary. I visited their home, examined the floor and found no popping, cupping any of the wood planks peaking at the edges. We went out and injected adhesive in a few places that was of concern to her and explained that she will have hollow areas just as I do in my own home where we had installed a wood floor. We have had to do this same floating process in dozens of homes because of un-level slabs and all will have hollow spots somewhere in the flooring. We even had to float the entire home of client that visited their home. The member's wear warranty is completely in effect and we warranty any labor issues for one year from installation. I have not received any calls, e-mails or texts about them being unhappy the wood flooring until I was made aware of this report. Thank You, Gary W. Slater Slater Flooring & Design 5344 W. Everything went well, Gary sent us to different tile and granite retailers in order to select what we wanted. He came personally and measured the kitchen, checked the ceiling and the lighting to be sure that what I wanted done was possible. He then sent the the granite fabricators to make a template of the counters and two weeks later we had the ceiling, counter, and back splash completed. Everyone that Gary sent was professional and did a wonderful job.

The kitchen, laundry room, pantry and short hallway were fairly straightforward installations. But the half bath presented some challenges because the pedestal sink was attached to the wall and the tile raised the pedestal 3/8 of an inch. The crew was able to handle most of this challenge and Gary had an experienced plumber take care of the rest of the work. The crew worked amazingly quickly and efficiently; without saying a word each knew what was expected. No one stood around waiting to be told what to do. They marked tile, mixed and applied the cement, cut the tile, positioned it with precision and filled in the colored grout. What looked like a 2-day job was completed in a day and a half. Tile cutting was done outside to minimize dust accumulation. On the first day they worked until all the tile was laid. On the second day they worked on the grout and the pedestal sink. The lead man of the crew said he had worked for Gary for 10 years. The experience showed in the quality of the job.

The work went very well. Mr. Slater is an excellent measurer for installation and provides an excellent installation crew. He also gave excellent advice on flooring colors and styles to go with the house. He warned us continually that we may need to float the floors in all areas so we would not be surprised at the additional work, and therefore the work took several additional days, however the floors are just beautiful.

The work went very well. He moved up the date of installation to a Saturday to accommodate our moving needs when the kitchen remodeling company ran overtime on their work. Mr. Slater is an excellent measurer for installation and provides a good installation crew. I have used his services many times over the years before he created his own company recently. He also gave excellent advice on flooring colors and styles to go with the kitchen cabinets and wall paint colors we had selected.
