The shower was old and outdated; Onis rebuilt the shower and did it the right way, using waterproof lining to avoid mold. We had new tiles with granite inlays, and had granite surrounding the tub and countertops. It's beautiful. Have used Onis in the past on the kitchen remodel and love Sherri and Bob.
First install included counter top with one large chip and several small ones and unevenly cut cap on pony wall. They returned two times to fix chips but couldn't fix the large one on the countertop. Each time they made it look worse. (Total of 3 install appointments at this point.) They agreed to replace counter but when they returned with the new counter, it did not match the first granite installed on pony wall and window seal. They took that counter back plus the first top installed so no counter in master bath. (That was the 4th appointment.) They agreed to replace ALL granite so it would match so they fabricated new countertop, pony wall cap, and window seal. They installed on 5th appointment. The cut outs for the under mount sinks were horribly uneven so in their attempt to fix on site, they damaged one sink. During this install, they did not use sink setters or the correct adhesive to bond sinks to counter so the sinks started to sag soon after install. They left the job without fixing cut outs. On 6th appointment, they replaced sinks and straightened sink cut outs. The appearance was greatly improved but the sink cut out dimensions do not match. The right sink has a larger cut out than the left sink. This is the current situation. Sinks remain in different sized cut outs...Demi bull edge appears unpolished...back splash fabricated from new granite was cut about an inch shorter than the first backsplash. I refuse to have them return for a 7th time and won't be calling them to do the kitchen counters as I had planned initially. This company is very difficult to deal with. The installers were very polite and professional while in my home...I don't blame them as they did the best they could with the tools and training they received from owners. But...when owners think it's okay to take this much time to do what should have been an easy installation...straight counter...no seams...and to inconvenience their clients to this degree, it's time to call it quits. Not once did I receive a call from the owners to apologize or to offer consideration for the inconvenience...Nothing! They received full payment for the job that should have been finished in one day. In all, someone from Onis Stone was at my house 8 times. The first 2 for estimated cost and measure. How many clients can afford to meet a contractor 8 times? I have a job but it's inconvenient whether you work or not. This experience created a lot of stress and tears. Hopefully this will help others avoid a similar situation. I wouldn't recommend them under any circumstances.
After reading this over I wondered why I didn't insist on a refund...so now I have.

On the day measurements were to be taken, no one had shown up by the agreed upon time, so I called the store. They indicated that their man was running late, but would be out that day. He showed up 3 hours late, no only to measure the space, but he also made templates that day. I truly believe they had a scheduling issue and would not have shown up had I not called, but everything worked out.
Within 3 days, they had a quote for me on the countertops based on the price of the granite I thought I wanted. However, they had failed to measure for my backsplash, so someone else had to come out to measure for that. They quoted the installation of the backsplash by the following day. I purchased by own tile on line as it was cheaper than local vendors.
We went to the stone yard in Dallas that they suggested and found the perfect countertop. It was actually cheaper than my original choice and so much more beautiful. When Onis had the slab in their possession, we went back to their store to decide where the templates would be placed on the two slabs for fabrication due to variations of veining, etc. in the slab. We had purchased our own undermount sink, so we took that to them as well for the hole to be cut in the counter.
They came out and installed the counters within a week or so. They look fantastic! However, the backsplash removal didn't go so well. They had trouble removing the ceramic tile and ended up just tearing out the sheet rock. The following day their tile man came and installed new sheet rock. It literally took him all day to do that, which didn't inspire my confidence that he was very qualified to install sheet rock. When he left, I had concerns about how my tile was going to look since the glass was colored, but see through. The seams would show, as would any imperfections in the sheet rock if the glue didn't cover everything. Also, since the sheet rock was replaced, we had about an inch and a half of sheet rock that would stick out beyond the tile and not blend in with my walls. I emailed the general manager with my concerns and photos of the area in question. He addressed it within a few hours and the finished product looks good.

His staff was very responsive, helpful, and courteous, regardless of how many times I called them with my concerns (that were mostly in my head, having never done this before.)
Having said that, we were not without some set-backs that disconcerted both of us. Several pieces had to go back to the shop for more cutting or polish. I had asked that all over-hangs be fully polished on the underside. After the first discovery that it hadn't been done, that never happened again. The slab for one counter-top spontaneously cracked clear through the sink. The problem could have been a flaw in the stone, but it also very clearly was that the base cabinets (custom) were not even and that should have been corrected before the slab was laid.
Bob was extremely creative with cladding with the same granite the floor, frame, and trim pieces of a large garden window over the primary sink. It dressed the window up in a stunning manner. Also, he suggested a very unusual treatment for the granite splash, same stone: It is a stacked pattern of rectangular pieces in four different widths, laid randomly. All visitors to the kitchen immediately stop and remark about how beautiful it is. (For this, I am most grateful, bcecause my most creative idea was to lay 6and quot; tiles on the diagonal!)
Lastly, when he saw my old cabinets (also custom, but very outdated from 50 years ago), he asked if he could take them out and give them to a ministry he sponsored. This he and his crew did at no cost to myself, which saved me the cost of a demolition team and disposal. I was very pleased in that I hate to throw things out, even if they have no value to me any more. This and quot;re-purposedand quot; them to a very good cause.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these folks.
