"I am sorry you were unhappy, I will forward this to our supervisor and see what happened and get back to you."
The actual work in my home took one hour and the time to buy the parts was 20 minutes for a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. But my bill was charging me for 1 hour and 45 minutes at the rate of $95.00 per hour. The extra 25 minutes charge was for the plumber to prepare the bill, present it to me, and get paid. I strongly object to this much of a charge for this part of my plumbing service.
I do not know if I will use this plumbing company again. I do not like paying for a plumber's time once he finishes the job. Charging for fifteen minutes to complete the bill and then charging for the time the plumber estimates that it will take to present the bill, get paid, and return to his van is not acceptable to me. I am sorry this happened since I enjoyed doing business with this company.
I called O'Grady's, talked to a manager and explained what had happened. He agreed to credit the difference between what he charged me and what the other plumber charged to clear the clog.
If O'Grady's plumber had been prepared with a working snake (which he broke on his previous job) I would not have had to go through all this.
And, he recommended a much more invasive, expensive solution by suggesting cutting through the wall and running a drain pipe along the outside wall of our house to drain the washer.
Just after he left, I discovered that the sprayers in both faucets were hard to operate and called his office.
He was back in half an hour and tried to fix the problem but said he needed to order new parts.
He came back after a couple of weeks and did fix the problem.
The toilet he worked on is still a little "cranky". We may have to call him back again.
I can't say it was inferior workmanship, since that is an old toilet and requires frequent attention.
My water heater started leaking badly. I placed a call to O'Grady on Sunday afternoon, they returned call same day and said they could respond early next day. They called early and determined the type of water heater needed and were at my home within an hour. The new install was very professional and a definite upgrade over my previous. The installers were very courteous and explained all of my questions. They completed the install in an expedious manner and left everything very clean.
They will be on my A list for any other plumbing work that comes up in the future.
The two men had to use a plumbing snake to unclog two pipes under my house. They were courteous and professional and did not leave until they were sure everything was working right.
I definitely plan to call them again when I need a plumber.
