They assumed what was wrong.  They assumed wrong.
They came without the right parts.
They did not show up when they said they would. They came days late.
The owner was huffy. The technician was very nice.  But he was not punctual.
I called them because the previous time they came to the house they did an excellent job.
What happened?

Was set up to do my yard monthly. The second time they never showed and when I called, I was told they would be here tomorrow. Tomorrow rolled around and they never came. They did call and say they would be here the next day, though again, they never came. Called the manager and he said he had been out of town, that his foreman screwed up. Was told again they would be here the following day. Guess what? Today was that day and they never came.

At first I liked them.  I called them and they came out promptly.  They asked me questions I couldn’t answer. They asked me where the cut-off was; I don’t know anything about sprinkler systems.  My house is on a hill so they dug down and they capped it off at the top of the hill.  Everything was fine and they left.  Two days later the fix they did gave out and it started again.  They came out and they capped it again lower; they took part of my deck out and capped it lower on the hill.  I thought they knew what they were doing so it was okay. They were very pleasant, very personable and very friendly.  I’ve never had sprinkler work done before so I assumed it was all fine.  Then I started having problems at my water meter.  My neighbor noticed that her meter box was flooding and it was coming from my box.  I called a plumber.  Apparently there was a cut-off and it was buried right next to the meter.  The sprinkler people had a metal detector and they were in the backyard looking for lines and I thought if they had walked up to the meter and looked they would have found it.  I had to pay another $700 to a plumber for him to cap it off at the main.  It cost me twice as much to get it fixed.  They should have known better.  I gave them my original survey so they would see where my water meter was and they took it with them.  He took my check but he didn’t give me a bill.  He said he’d email it to me.  He told me that I had lost a lot of water and that I needed to contact my water company to tell them I had a break and give them the copy of the bill and they would give me a credit for some of the cost.  I was happy about that.  He never emailed me a bill.  I have called him and I have emailed him to ask for my survey back plus I’ve asked for this bill.  I called the water company and they said they would give me 50% of my $400 bill back if I could give them a copy of my bill from the sprinkler people.  There have been no responses to my calls or my emails.  They were so sweet and friendly when they were here.  If they had done it right the first time the price would have been correct; if I hadn’t had to have the plumber come out it would have been an appropriate price.  The plumber charged as much as they did.  They completely failed me in quality.  When the water was gushing they came out pretty quickly. I’m just so disappointed.  I’m going to put in a new sprinkler system and I don’t want them to do it; I’m going to call someone else.    I've learned to be more careful.
