We have been trying to get our floors fixed since the original install date of 2-26-13 from the owner at the Carrollton location store. We reported issues the next business day and now have over 3 pages of documentation of excuses why it hasn't been done yet and still unable to give us a date to repair multiple issues and owner is unwilling to return our call nor is the store willing to give us his mailing address, even though he is the one who sold us the job. On 5-1-13, the store manager at the Carrollton location has acknowledged an estimate of 5-6 hours to do the repairs, but not willing or able to put us on the schedule. Will update after the job is complete.
5-8-13 Update...After informing the store manager that reviews would be left stating all the issues we ran into and informing him that it sounds like legal action would be required to resolve the issues, we received a call the afternoon of 5-7-13 saying they had an opening the next day (assuming they must have had a job cancelation), which I accepted knowing repair work is not a priority. They came and left within a couple hours without completing the work and had my wife sign a statement of work stating that she was satisfied with the work, yet there were markers on my walls where the quarter round was not flush and said the hollow sounds throughout my house was just how it is in Texas and that it wouldn't be a problem. Very odd, when the owner, told us there would be an upcharge at time of install if the floor needed leveling, which we agreed to, and then the store manager tells us they saved us $500 to $700 dollars for not leveling our floors. My wife told him we would have rather be given that option rather than tell us after the fact and risk our floors not being installed correctly. Time will tell, but already having issues with company that was not honest with us on multiple occasions.
Bottom Line, if you decide to use this company, make sure you read their biased contract that will charge you out the nose if you decide to reschedule among many other legalese that is basically an escape clause for multiple issues. I would make them add to the contract IN WRITING the following to protect yourself from the same issues we ran into:
1) Specifically when repairs would be done and specify a financial penalty if it is not done when promised.
2) Specify that floors will be thoroughly cleaned by company after installation is complete. (Installers told us AFTER install that we are responsible for cleaning up their mess...THEY walked all over our new floors tracking new construction debris from the raw floor and it has taken several cleanings and still has gunk in the cracks, will take more hand scrubbing).
3) Specify they are responsible for making sure all excess glue is removed between planks (they told us color of ink pen to get from hardware store to cover it up!)
4) Specify your preferred normal working hours for install (their 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. is way too late a shift for a residential house!)
5) Specify company will replace improperly installed parts and material at their expense prior to moving on to the next customer and within specific time frame (I am out about an additional $210 for replacing improperly installed t-molds/quarter round/ and issues with wood floor squeaking that needed to be replaced, wasn't worth the fight at the time, just wanted it completed). Further specify that you should not be put on another waiting list to wait for the manufacturer to come to the house and inspect defective planks and then another waiting list to have the installer come out.
6) Specify contact information for regional manager and owner of company in case you are jerked around and lied to by the store manager.
7) After 3 attempts at attempting to fix the quarter round/trim work and it still not being done right, the store manager telling us that if we wanted precision cuts where there aren't gaps between the cuts, then we would have needed a carpenter because their guys are only equipped with cutting shears, I don't know what to recommend except do the trim work yourself and just let them lay the wood flooring...I REALLY regret having them attempt this part of the job! They should really get the fact that you don't cut into the quarter round to make the t-molds fit, there should be no gaps between 2 pieces of quarter round, and gaps should at the very least line up...VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

We were very satisfied with his installers and the product. I like the quality of the hickory that we picked out and the color. The installers were prompt and did the good job. We were very satisfied with what we got and how they did it. It was completed in three days. We had old laminate down in the kitchen area and the dining room area that had to be pulled up first. I was happy to have them do that.
