Hill Restoration

In response to requests to finish work, always sends an invoice by email even after all has been paid and more. Did come back and replace warping stairs and some of other requests, but not all, and only after using Angie's List mediation to intervene. still having to hire someone else to finish the trim, put the railing at the height requested, fix the shoddy joints, and replace the sides of the stairs, and get it ready to paint.

I reached out to Jimmye after more than six months of trying to find an honest, reputable, responsive contractor (with no luck) to repair some cracked rafters at my home, and I and was very impressed with him and his team. Jimmye responded to my initial inquiry promptly and met with me that day to discuss the job. He scheduled the work quickly and checked on his team regularly throughout the two-day job. His knowledge of home styles and building techniques and even area history is really impressive and exceptional among contractors. He promotes "period correct" work, and can back it up. He knows remodels. Jimmye and his guys went out of their way to do the job right -- not just quickly or cheaply, even though it took them a little longer than initially expected (and might have cost them a bit more than expected). His price was more than fair (especially considering the time they took to get the job right). He communicated with me regularly throughout the job and went out his way to repair a few minor cracks in my drywall caused by the work in the garage. I intend to use Jimmye regularly as projects come up in the future. Good work from him and his team. Contractors like this are rare.

it went very well. The project's scope increased as the work was being completed and ultimately was completed in the acceptable time frame.

I talked with several carpenters and contractors before I found Jimmye Hill at Hill Restoration. They all gave me huge bids and wanted to do so much more work than was needed. Jimmye's bid was affordable and he only did the work that was absolutely needed to make my porch look great while still being safe, strong and sturdy. He even guided me through the process of getting the necessary approvals required since my house is in a historical neighborhood. There was a delay in getting the lumber order, but Jimmye kept me updated all along the way. The end result is awesome! My porch looks great and I'm getting compliments from the neighbors.
Jimmye even went above and beyond and fixed my back door which was stuck shut! I plan on bringing him back to do more work as soon as my budget allows.

Jimmy has been able to help us contact people for some other services. The cost ended up being about the same for the restoration as it would have been to install new windows. Jimmy rehab-ed, scraped down, painted each window, and fixed the rope pulls. I give him all A’s for his services. He has done some other projects for us since and I will continue to use him in the future.
