Glendarroch Homes

When relocating to the DFW area, we purchased an existing home in Fort Worth.  We liked the lot and neighborhood, but the home itself required significant work to meet our tastes.  The project included new kitchen flooring, new granite throughout, all bathrooms renovated, new carpets throughout, a redo of the master and master bedroom, all interior walls painted, new lighting throughout, new staircase, fireplace reconstruction, and new cabinetry /molding in several rooms.  It was a very significant project that took about 3-4 months.
After interviewing a few builders, we settled on Glendarroch.  The firm is run by two brothers, Tim (manages the business side) and Tom (manages the construction side) Bates.  The brothers forma great team and were extremely helpful, professional, honest, and trustworthy throughout the process.  My wife and I have had three homes build over the past 25 years and they were easily the best builder we worked with.  We worked on an accelerated timeline to minimize the relocation difficulties.
Tom and Tim were easy to work with an professional throughout.  They used high quality subcontractors and kept the project moving and on time.  We had access to several of their previous projects to help make styling and design decisions.  They were open to our ideas and suggestions (e.g., redesign of the master shower) and worked hard to incorporate them into the ultimate solution.  They have a good and courteous crew of employees to assist with various follow-up and subcontractor issues.
Tom was extremely hands-on, helpful, and participative with all the selection work including granite, lighting, fixtures, flooring, etc.  He traveled with us to several showrooms to help us make selections that worked with out style and budget.  Without this type of intervention, the process would have been much more difficult and time consuming.  Tom demonstrated very good taste in his recommendations and this part of the job worked great.
There were a few unexpected surprises that came up during construction (especially with the fireplace rebuild).  Tom was flexible and helped figure out several alternatives to address the problems.  I'm sure that this part of the job cost them more than anticipated, but they delivered the overall project on budget.
I would highly recommend Glendarroch for others interested in new construction or remodeling in the FTW area.
