Frontier Landscape and sprinkler

Needed landscape services on a new construction. Hired Juan to put down edging, weed barrier, mulch and plants. I also needed him to remove large amounts of rock that were in the flowerbed. He quoted me a great price and seemed like an upstanding person so we proceeded with the job. When Juan arrived, 13 of my 26 plants were nearly dead. He decided to plant them anyway and then dump large amount of mulch on top which seemed to suffocate the already sick plants. He also failed to remove the rock before putting down weed barrier. In the end, this created horrible drainage for my Boxwoods. When it was time for Juan to leave to buy the mulch, he asked me for an additional $60 because he didn't have his wallet. Because I didn't want the job to be further delayed, I gave him the $60 (which was really stupid on my part). After everything was all said and done, Juan was contacted by my spouse about the plant issue and the $60 and he assured us he would replace the plants and reimburse me for the $60. After multiple attempts to contact Juan, he's nowhere to be found. Like I suspected, I haven't heard from him since. I will say that he did complete the job but it was shoddy work. I would NOT recommend Juan for any landscape services.
