Fireman Movers LLC

My husband and I were moving into our 1st home after having lived in a 3rd floor apartment for 4 years. In looking for a moving company we looked at price point, ratings with other customers and securing 3-men instead of 2...we have alot of heavy stuff and a attached storage space as well. When compared to the rest Fireman Movers met us in cost and guaranteed we would have 3-men and were told that with a 1bdroom around 900sqft with an attached storage room..."should take between 4-5hrs and the movers will ARRIVE between 9 and 10am". "Great", so I secured the time. Well, a red flag popped up the 1st time when I had a date change suddenly with moving and couldn't get in touch with the owner or anyone. So, having utilized all contacts available I waited until HE finally called back The owner did contact me but via e-mail 1st...even though I called him 1st. A bit impersonal but "Oh wellll, I was able to secure and confirm a different date". The owner finally called later to reconfirm and inform me that I would receive a REMINDER CALL the day before the move was scheduled. "GREATTT, I said...I'm all set". WELLL, needless to say "THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN". I received no reminder phone call. So fast forward to the next day "MOVING DAYYYY" my husband and I waiting for the arrival of the movers...9am comes and goes...9:30 comes and goes. When we hit 9:45 my hubby asks me to call the owner. Got the owner on the 1st ring an asked, "When can we expect the movers??? Its almost 10am and we have other services coming over to the home". The owner quickly says, "I'll call them now and have them call you"....which I thought was odd. Nonetheless, the movers called and said, "We're about an hour away, we have abit of delay because the 3rd guy hasnt shown up yet". I'm saying to myself, "THIRD GUYYY HASNT SHOWN UP?" By this time my husband has snatched the phone from my hand and "goes innnn" on the moving guy. Needless to say, they arrived and hour and almost 45 minutes late...they showed up with ONLY 2 GUYS and the JOB TOOK A TOTAL OF 7HRS!!!! So with that complaint my husband took it to the owner who apologized and dropped the hourly rate by $20 bucks and 10% off the total labor cost. The owner NEVER EXPLAIN WHY THIS EVER HAPPENED IN THE 1ST PLACE! The ONLYYYYYYY GREAT THING ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE WAS THE MOVERS. They made "Lemonade out of Lemons", apologized again and again for the miscommunication in scheduled move date and time between them and the owner, and apologized for not having the 3rd man. Aside from that, they were meticulous with every piece they moved, were courteous and did a fine job with dissembling and re-assembling all my wooden pieces. So, my issue with the WHOLE SCENARIO you may guess "is paying for a service(s), and verbally being told your will receive those services and then getting less then IF AT ALL!!!! The owner runs the business solo in the side of his regular job....he needs to have BETTER COMMUICATIONNNN WITH HIS STAFF AND CLIENTSSS. Your reputation stands by your word and when you cant deliver that...."HOUSTONNNN, WE HAVE A PROBLEM". So, I would never recommend them to anyone I know.
