Elite Asphalt LLC

A lesson on always get it in writing first: Elite Asphalt came out for a project estimate and later called me back with a quote for $2200. I liked to have fell out of my chair at hearing such a low estimate and told him that just couldn't be right; that was cheap! He told me that there were a few factors in place; I already have more than enough base gravel in my driveway, that a planned project had been cancelled and therefore they had a load of asphalt ready and that the boss wanted to keep his crew busy and would rather lose money and gain a customer and more from word of mouth and neighborhood referrals and so on. So, I told him I was waiting on a check to hit my bank and would call him back to set it up. Within 30 minutes the salesman was texting me that the boss wanted to go ahead and get his crew on it the next morning and that I could just pay the invoice when my check came in. Well, if I thought cheap sounded fishy, this made it even more so. I told the salesman that I'd just assume have the money in hand and he replied that they trusted me and do business like this all of the time. Finally, I told him to send me the quote along with payment terms. And, BAM! A quote of $22,000, NOT $2200 hit my inbox along with 18% interest on any unpaid balance so on and so forth. Obviously, I made sure he understood he was NOT to send any crew; that I was certainly good for $2200 to pay by check but not $22,000! I'm not suggesting the owner is behind any shady practices, or even the "boss" the salesman spoke of. I would hope the salesman was inexperienced and that he misspoke. I sure didn't mishear because we talked about how cheap that was. Regardless, get that quote in writing before giving the go ahead. Elite Asphalt gets great reviews and are undoubtedly deserving of those reviews. And, the salesman was very nice and polite. I wish we could have done business because that was one heck of a deal!

They absolutely exceeded all of my expectations.  Our driveways are absolutely gorgeous. The staff were very easy to work with and were highlly professional. Harry Gallagher himself was on the job all day long over seeing what his team was doing.  It wasn't one of those companies where the head contractor makes the deal and then sends a crew out to do it and you never see the head contractor again.  They finished the job in one day, even though they worked approximately twelve hours.  Harry and his crew were very courteous and sympathetic of our needs and desires and worked diligently with us to be sure it was a great job done to our satisfaction.  

I did comparison shop before I selected Elite to do the job.  I got three bids and I went with the contractor that I felt would do me the best job for my money, and I was not mistaken.  

I am truly grateful to Harry Gallagher and Elite Asphalt for the fantastic job they did.  I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that is looking for this kind of work to be done.  

My perception of Mr. Gallagher is that he is a good christian man and an honest business man that will do you a good job.

Harry Gallagher accommodated us by coming out late one evening to walk the property and discuss the work.  I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge.  He had a crew at the end of a job in town and offered me a discount if we could start the next day.  After discussing with my wife, we bit, and the work was done quickly and meeting all our specifications.  Elite installed several culverts and a French drain in front of the garage as part of the job.  The new road base was absorbing a lot of ground water, so Harry recommended adding another layer of chipseal.  We approved the additional expense, and ended up with three layers in some places.  The overall cost was higher than planned but Harry?s and our goal was to create a road that would last 20 years, not wash out or develop potholes that would require repair later.  This surface will cure hard as concrete and require a saw to get through, but is easy to repair. 
We were given a two-year warranty, and they will be back to check how the road is curing in a few weeks.  We will be adding a privacy fence along one border, and Harry offered to come back after we get it installed and he will fill out the parking area up to the edge.   His experience, attention to detail, pride in his work and commitment to personal trust is obvious.  I feel very confident that we got a top-quality product with top-quality customer service.  I recommend Elite Asphalt without reservation.

The Crew from Elite arrived on the job ready to go to work. They were properly dressed, polite, respectful and were knowledgeable about the process and able to explain any questions we had. There were no "watchers", the entire crew came to work and did. They milled the existing road and laid asphalt from the County road to an agreed upon cut off line. They installed the proper size Tin Horn to divert runoff from rainstorms and configured the slope to drain appropriately.  I spent the day watching them as we are also having the interior painted and I needed away from the paint smell. As I stated earlier, they were respectful, I did not hear any cursing or inappropriate language while I watched them work. They did a great job, answered any concern we had and did not leave a trail of trash in their wake. I can, in all honesty, give the highest rating to Elite on this project. I had estimates from other Companies but am So happy Elite was the one we chose. Our drive is off the Historical Bankhead Highway and I am happy that Tourists following the Old Hwy Tour later this year will see our beautiful driveway as they pass by.

The owner of Elite Asphalt, Harry Gallagher responded to my inquiry for a price quote immediately and arranged an appointment to view the job site.   Mr. Gallagher clearly explained his recommendations and what his crew would do to perform the work.  He answered all our questions and incorporated our requests into the job plans.

The crew showed up at the scheduled time and introduced themselves.  They promply began work and were easy to communicate with. They explained what they were doing as the work progressed and seemed happy to answer our questions.  The old driveway had been heavily damaged by the recent flooding and Elite Asphalt did a great job of leveling and preparing the base for the new drive.  As always in big projects like this we had some additional requests as the work was taking place and this work was done without additional expense to us.  The work was finished on schedule and the area was thoroughly cleaned.

The finished job completely met our expectations and we are very pleased with how the new driveway adds to the curb appeal of our home.  I would highly recommend Elite Asphalt to anyone needing paving work.

.I can't remember every detail of the work being done. I did see that the employees worked until it was finished. I would say to get the papers (Warranty for 20 full years and other receipts that belong to you ) in hand before making the final payment. Update: 11/6/15--The driveway is now deteriorating. I called them to ask them to come seal the driveway because I have found out that they did not seal the driveway in 2012. I have a a lot of difficulty reaching them. They will not return my calls.

I had Elite redo my driveway and I must say they did a very professional job at a very fair price and I couldn't be happier.  The crew worked fast and neat with no wasted time or motion.  And no mess to clean up after. If you ever have them come out you will certainly be impressed with the cleanliness of ALL their equipment.  I thought it was all brand new. They said they wash it once a week and wax it once a month.  Never seen anything like it.  You will be impressed.  It's a real pleasure to see a company that takes pride in its quality and appearance.
