I bought a new dryer and had it installed professionally. Within the first week, I got an error message on the dryer that said "check dryer vent. Blockage". Something like that that the dryer would then turn off mid-cycle. Well I thought I'd gotten a lemon appliance because I'd cleaned the vent about 6 months prior. Maytag sent Guinco Repair out to assess. Their tech showed me the air flow reader saying yes, there was a blockage in the vent that was causing insufficient air flow. It was not the appliance. OK.... now what? Guinco referred me to Steve at Dryer Fighters. I called and left a message. Steve got right back to me and was able to come out within 48 hours. His vehicle was clearly marked and he wore a company shirt. Steve asked me several questions to decide how best to proceed. First he cleaned the vent, but still I had poor airflow. Some lint was removed but not enough to be the source of the problem. Then he got up on the roof to inspect the vent cover. Low and behold he found the problem. He was able to snap a photo of the issue to show me. I had my roof replaced just prior to my old dryer overheating and blowing out. The roofer crew crimped and squished my vent pipe down to fit a contemporary style "low profile" vent cover, rather than cutting it to fit the cover. This was causing the blockage. (The old vent cover sat about 12" off the roofline.) I contacted the roofer and to their credit, they sent someone that same day and cut the vent down to the roofline and fixed the problem. Bottom line, no one could explain why I was having problems with my dryer until Steve solved it! He's the best! He's earned my appreciation and I will call him again next year when it's time to clear out the vent! THANK YOU, STEVE!

We called Steve on Tuesday; he set our appointment for Thursday at 4 pm. He was courteous on the phone and answered our questions. On Thursday, he called when he was on the way and stated he was about 20 minutes away. He arrived right on time for our 4 pm appointment. The vehicle he arrived in was clearly marked with the business information as was his shirt. He came right in and set to work cleaning out our dryer vent (approximately 20-25' of duct work - ours vents up the wall, through the attic, and the roof). He got on the roof, inspected, and cleaned out the lint where the dryer vents out from the roof. He shop-vac'd all the lint that came out of the dryer vent onto the utility room floor and then hooked it up to the wall and vacuumed out even more lint. While working, he answered all of our questions. We will definitely have him come out once a year and keep this cleaned out!

It went well. He was very professional, came on time, and cleaned the areas before he left. Stephen is going to call me to schedule another cleaning in an year.

He was delayed due to an emergency but called to ask if it was ok before accepting the emergency offer. He communicated with me along the way.

Steve arrived a bit early - always a good sign. Then he got straight to the task of cleaning our rather clogged dryer vent. He spent about an hour and was done. The vent now works great! Nice guy, fair price, good work - hard to come by nowadays. And, did I mention that my husband is a professional home inspector who heartily approved of Steve's work? Thanks Dryer Fighter!

The response to my phone inquire occurred within a reasonable time. The services was scheduled within a few business days (this was not an emergency).  Stephen called ahead that day and arrived on time. He assessed the situation accurately.  He cleaned the vertical pipe with his specialized equipment. He recommended a new roof cap since the cap was filled with a bird's nest. Stephen could not install it due to the slope and height of my two story roof. (I later used a roofer and this cost another $200 for parts and labor).

This is the second time we have called upon Dryer Fighter service.  Our dryer vent pipe that exits through the roof was not installed correctly by the builder and birds like to build their nest there and have fallen in twice now to die and clog up the vent.  Steve responded to my calls almost immediately and scheduled service calls the very next day.  I have two large dogs that also contribute to the build up of normal lint that flows through my dryer so I will continue to call upon this service on at least an annual basis to keep my dryer operating efficiently and minimize my electricity bills. I would definitely recommend this service provider.

Called late in afternoon to set appointment and left message. Received a text that he received message late and would return call next business day. Called as promised and would have come out same day had it worked for my schedule. Set an appointment Let me know when he was on his way. I wasn't sure how the system was vented. He showed where it vented out and showed pictures of what he cleaned out.

I checked some specials that actually cost more before anyone came out to the house.

Our dryer vent is on an inside wall, and vents up the wall and out the roof. We just bought the house in January, and were concerned that there might be debris accumulated. Sure enough it was packed! Steve got it all cleaned out, even got on the roof and inspected the vent. We feel much better now!
We plan to make his inspection and clean out an annual event!

I couldn't be me pleased with the overall experience. I asked him to send me a reminder for next year. A good friend of mine recommended Steve. I called for an appointment and he was able to come the same week. He gave me a window of 3pm to 5pm. He arrived promptly at 3pm. He got to work right away. He was incredibly thorough. When he was finished he explained everything to me which I really appreciated. I will definitely use him again next year.

He was easy to reach. We scheduled the appointment within 24 hours of my call. Not only was he recommended here on Angie's List, but also by another trusted contractor who is regularly an award-winner on this site. I was impressed that he is a firefighter doing this in off duty hours. He provided a time window for his appointment, and arrived punctually. Before beginning, he inspected the exterior of my roof to see if the roof covering was the proper one for good dryer ventilation. (We discussed the kind I need; he does not do that type of work. I will contact my roofer about that.) He worked quietly and efficiently, photographed the entire contents of the vent, discussed his work afterwards, and he showed me pictures of better choices for my roof vent.
When he left, the floor was cleaner than I have seen it in awhile (all lint gone from it, too!), and the full load of towels I dried in my dryer finished faster and more thoroughly dry than they have in quite awhile!
I have filed his card in my contacts. I will use him again!

Was able to schedule the vent cleaning within 2 days. Went well. The price seemed a bit high, but unless I secure the tools/extensions myself I will use dryerfighter again.
